My 4 month old has been spitting up a good hour or so after eating lately. It has that nasty curdled look to it and at times smells a little funky. He's a super active little guy all the time so I'm not sure if it just isn't settling real well before he is active again with his kicking and everything else so he ends up spitting up or if it is throw up? A friend of mine mentioned his belly might be upset but he surely doesn't act sick at all and I would think if he had an upset tummy he'd be fussy? How do you know the difference between throw up and spit-up at this age... anyone else deal with this? Spit-up a good hour or more after eating?

Re: Spit-up or throw up?!
That's normal. Spit-up tends to peak at 4 months.
You'd notice bile from his stomach if it was true throw up.
Vomiting usually entails a forceful emptying of stomach contents. As in, you'd KNOW if he was throwing up.
It's totally normal to spit-up an hour or two after eating. If he isn't bothered by it, I'd say you have nothing to worry about.
