Cloth Diapering

Buying Used CD Question

Hello Ladies,

First off I am new to the cloth World :)  We just found out we are expecting and want to start getting my stash :)

I am buying a few BB used diapers  and inserts, I am wondering what you would do to "prep" them for your child to wear. A few of the inserts have stains? Is that common or gross- I should just toss them?!?!

Thanks for your ideas!!!!

Re: Buying Used CD Question

  • Hmmm.  Are you buying  blueberries or Best Bottoms?  I suppose it doesn't really matter.  Are you buying them from someone you know?  Do you know what they washed them in?

If it's questionable at all I throw in a little bleach when I wash them.  Otherwise I put them in with my usual diaper load.  As for the stains, you can sun them or you can soak them overnight in RnG or your CD detergent.  I've taken out stains from used dipes by simply washing in RnG at times.  Others were a little tougher and required a longer soak.  Congrats and good luck!!

  • I typically just wash and dry them once. I've only had one bad used experience with stains.

Stains happen, but I would never sell someone CDs with stains. You can sun them out. Just put them out in the sun or in front of a sunny window after they come out of the wash and the stains should come out.
