Re: long car ride with LO

  • 6 hours is not too terribly long, IMO. Just don't have a tight schedule, and allow yourself extra time to stop and let your LO out of their carseat.

    You'll be fine, I promise. : )

  • We recently took a 2 day car trip to and from Northwest Wyoming to Phoneix. 9-11 hours each day. We have a 4 year old and a 4 month old. They both did great. I sat in the back seat when DD2 was awake and front when she slept. She got a little cranky a couple times but we pulled over and took care of her problem. We made a stop at least every 3 hours if not more frequent. We changed her, fed her, did a little play time, and let our 4 year old play at McDonalds play places and such, DD2 did start to hate her carseat a little but other than that it was a good trip.

    Good luck!

  • Take your time.  Stretch your legs!!
  • We recently went on a 4 hour drive with DS.  We made a stop for lunch (normally we would have driven straight through).  We got DS out and let him play, stretch, eat, etc.  He napped for a good portion of the drive and the other part I sat in the back and played with him in his seat. He was fine.  I'm sure your drive will go well!
