Babies: 3 - 6 Months

How long til your LO rolled consistently?

DS rolled from tummy to back 3 times in a row two nights ago, but since then he hasn't done it again.  He does great tummy time - superman style - and tucks his legs up under himself, but will not push himself over again.  Just wondering how long it took your LOs to be consistent with it?

  • My guy would have days that he would roll over every time I put him down, then go for a week and not roll over at all. It was really by 4 1/2 mo. that he was doing it everyday and now he refuses to stay on his belly because he's so quick to roll.

Still workin on back to belly....

  • I would say it was around 5 months that he started doing both pretty regularly.

  • Some babies never get "consistent" with rolling. I know with DS, he had demonstrated both by about 5 months, but he was more interested in figuring out how to crawl instead of rolling. Just like some babies who never learn to crawl, but all of a sudden start walking.

  • D rolls from stomach to back pretty regularly, but he has yet to roll from back to tummy.

Yeah, I have a feeling he's going to figure out crawling pretty quickly the way he pulls his knees up under himself.  Thanks everyone!

  • 4 1/2 months.  Now at 5 1/2 months she rolls over and over and over again until she's on the other side of the room.  I dislike her moving.  I liked when she was still like a potted plant.  I sit her down and she stays.
  • DD is 6 mos in a few weeks and still does not roll consistently.
