We're planning on telling our parents & immediate family members on Easter. We usually meet up for brunch after church. I'm completely stumped on how to announce Baby #2 though! (For DS, we found out at Halloween & bought a baby outfit with a pumpkin on it....)
I found a cute phrase that says, "We're Egg-specting!" that I'd love to use.... but I'm not sure what else to use-- or how to present it.
I'd love for our DS to be involved in some way... but not with him wearing an "I'm going to be a Big Brother!" shirt since other family members have used this idea recently.
Thanks for your help!
Re: Creative way to "announce" on Easter???
We have an annual Easter egg hunt at my Grandmother's house and I'm thinking of putting our NT scan picture in an egg for one of the older kids to find and open. For everyone else that won't be there, I plan on sending them a text that says "Easter Riddle: What's pink or blue and due to arrive in November"
You could combine those and put part of the riddle in each egg and let the last egg be the ultrasound picture.

Found this on another section of the bump
1. ?We waited until Easter, and had the whole family on both sides over for dinner. My DH asked for everyone to hold hands right before dinner, so he could say grace. He started with how many things that we are all thankful for, and ended the list with an addition to the family -- that we were expecting. The family was so excited, it was a great dinner.? -- Dunkin
2. ?I have an older sister who already has a son. At an extended family gathering my mom says ?Well, I'm going to be a grandma again!? Everyone(aunts, uncles, cousins) turned to my sister and yelled out her name. She was shaking her head no and then they turned to me and said ?XYZ,you're pregnant??? -- vagirl06
3.
?We had an ultrasound at 6w4d. We had a photo of the sonogram, so we scanned it and printed out copies for each grandmother to be. We made excuses to give them gifts, then presented each of them with the sonogram in a baby frame. We also had my digital camera ready, which secretly films a movie, too -- so we have it all captured for our journal!? -- finallyPG
My ideas
1. Where a t-shirt with the little pink and blue peeps - something like one pink peep and one blue peep with a ?. Just an idea!!
2. Had out a pack of peeps to each member with a riddle. Can you tell that I LOVE PEEPS...plus they are pretty cheep!
3. I know they have fun ways to personalize M&Ms but do they have fun ways to personalize Jelly Beans...that might be fun!!! Hand out mini baskets to everyone. OR, just buy the Jelly Belly Beans (pink and blue?) and make a ribbon with a saying on it....."HEYTEACH21 is about to have some extra Jelly in her Belly".
4. Cute t-shirts on this site https://www.zoeysattic.com/creativepregnancyannouncements.htm#holiday
5. Not sure where you go for brunch or what you eat....this might help with a few more ideas....BOY, this is FUN!!!
6. Decorate easter eggs with a + sign and use them in an easter basket.
7. Give me a little more time and I'm sure I can come up with a few more ideas for ya!!
8. Easter cookies with pink and blue bunnies on one side and your due date on the other side. Baby chicks would also work
9. Can they make fortune cookies in the shape of a bunny? If so, put a message inside.
10. Found this poem online : LOVED IT!!
I do not have a face to see,
Or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss.
I don't yet have a name.
You can't yet hold my tiny hands,
Nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
Or cuddle me so near.
But all will change come August;
That's when Mom say's I'm due.
I am your new son or daughter;
And I can't wait to meet you!
All I ask between now and then
Is your patience while I grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait;
Because of all the love we'll know!
So what I have to give you now,
Is a wish to you from me.
I cannot wait to be a part
Of this wonderful family!
11. Make a puzzle with a picture - ultrasound maybe - and give each member a piece to put together at the table. I bet someone on ebay makes these!
Did I mention that this us SO MUCH FUN!!!??
I will step away now....
Inside the eggs we bring to our family Easter Egg Hunt we are putting Christmas candy, I am due in Dec) and this poem I made up. (Really I am not a poet, but it works)
Happy Easter and HOHOHO
There is something you should know
After Summer and Fall are through
But before Santa comes to visit you
A new cousin will arrive
Making us a family of five
Boy or girl we will not see
Until the baby's delivery
December 4 is when its due
Now just guess who?
Hopefully one of the older grandkids will find it or the younger ones will bring it to their moms. There will be about 4 of us who "could" be pregnant.
Good Luck , there are alot of cute ideas!
We find out the sex on the 18th (hopefully), and this is what we're doing to announce that:
Getting little white paper bags (Michael's, Pat Catan's, etc.) and on the front we're cutting out an Easter egg design (you could cut out a baby carriage, stork, other baby thing). On the inside, we'll cover the cut out with some clear plastic and glue it down (so we've made a window). Filling the bags with either pink and green jelly beans or blue and green jellies (you could do blue and pink since you won't know the sex yet). Fold over the top, hole punch two holes fairly close together, and tie closed with a ribbon that says "It's a __" (Jo-Ann Fabrics has these) (you could get a ribbon saying "We're expecting!). We're going with fairly small bags, enough to give to 50+ people. Hope you like!
