Cincinnati Babies

childcare

I will eventually have to go back to work which leads us to our childcare dilemma.  We have no family that lives down here so that is not an option.  I am a nurse and only work 3 shifts a week, at night so we only need childcare for a couple of hours 3 days a week.  So we need someone/someplace that is flexible.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I have seen a couple of websites (babysitease.com, sittercity.com that list sitters in your area) has anyone ever used one of these?  Thanks so much!

Re: childcare

  • Depending on what part of town you are in I would look into posting an ad at local colleges. I went to Xavier for my undergrad and to earn money through college I was a nanny at night for a couple that were both nurses and worked the night shift. I occasionally watched the kids while they were picking up different shifts. I know Xavier has a book that they post all the want ads in and students can see the listing and call you if it will work for their schedule. Oh and fwiw the majority of people that I knew that did this were people that were either early childhood education, social work or nursing majors so all people who have some experience/interaction with kids. HTH!

  • What part of town are you looking for child care in?

  • We live in Liberty twp.
  • I have a girlfriend that will be watching my LO if I deside to go back to work.  She has taken classes and keeps 2-3 kids.  She is looking for a few news ones seeing as to how the ones she has now will be heading to school.  She lives in Springoboro....I can give you her info if you would like.  I myself am thinking about staying home and babysitting a few kids once lil one comes....
