how do you know how big they are when they're at the bottom of the toilet? i'm supposed to call if they are bigger than a golf ball, but it's almost impossible to tell when they fall and I can't see them. the very bottom of the toilet is almost completely covered with them (not filled, but covered), but i can't tell how many are down there.
Re: very gross tmi- ? about clots
It's one of those "you just know" kind of things. I passed one huge clot a few weeks after my D&C from a missed m/c at 10 weeks (fetus 6ish weeks). It's more a pattern of things that would make your doctor have to go back in. Increasingly worse clots with severe or worsening cramping/abdominal pain. If you're slowly feeling less pain and decreasing clots/bleeding, then things are heading in the right direction.
If you're really concerned or worried, you can lift the lid on the toilet and place plastic wrap loosely across the bowl. Tape it if it won't stick. You may have to clean first if DH can't aim =P. Put the rim back down. Then when you sit down, any clots you pass will collect on the plastic where you can better visualize them. Of course, do not flush the plastic! It's gross, but if it gives you the answers you need, worth it right?
