Tiffany's post made me think

I have no idea how ovulation works after pregnancy. I EP and my doctor said I wouldn't have a period for 4-6 months pp. Can anyone explain this to me? I mean, do I ovulate? If so, why don't I have a period? Obviously if I do, I can get pregnant...I'm so confused.

Re: Tiffany's post made me think

  • There is no guarantee to how every woman's body will handle BF/EP and their ovulation.  The only way to be confident about not getting pg again is using bc or just not having sex (lol).  I EBF and I had EWCM now I am not charting so I don't know if there was a temp spike to go with it but I am expecting to get my period in the next two weeks.  If you ovulate then you have a period, unless you are pg.  If you aren't having a period then you haven't ovulated, or you could be in your 2ww.

  • If you don't get a period, you didn't ovulate that month.  However, you never know when you are going to ovulate, and the only way you will know is if 2 or so weeks later you get your period.  You can get pregnant without ever having gotten a pp period if you have sex at ovulation time on the first month you ovulate.

  • Last time I stopped pumping on a Friday and got my period on Monday at 5 weeks pp and my cycle went right back to normal. I've been getting some cm recently so I hope I won't get my period soon. I want to be one of the lucky ones who doesn't get it while nursing.lol
