Well i failed the 3 hour (just barely) and am meeting with a dietician and doctor next week for diet plan and glucose tester training:( Anyone else in July been diagnosed yet?

i have my one hour on friday and i'm more than nervous. diabetes runs in my family and i had a first cousin diagnosed with gestational diabetes with her second baby. i really hope i pass it.

that being said, i've heard that it isn't really difficult to control gestational diabetes if you follow the guidelines. hope your meeting goes well and let us know what they say!

It will be ok, I haven't had either my one hour or possible follow up yet. I am pretty sure I'll get it, I am already pre-diabetic thanks to genetics. The dietician is going to give you guidelines for eating lots of small protein based meals and to monitor your carb intake to help maintain a good blood sugar level. Smile

I was diagnosed at 13 weeks! It's really not that bad. You get used to it quickly. I have been getting worried because the closer I get the the 3rd tri the worse my numbers are. It's getting harder to control with diet alone.

GL! You'll do fine! One positive may be more ultrasounds! I get an u/s every 5 weeks to track her growth.

Awe man, that stinks! Sorry to hear that. I noticed that a couple other July mommas have tested positive. I was also lurking on High Risk bd and saw a lot of GD posts. Best of luck to you though. I haven't had mine yet, probably late next week is when I'll go bc I'll be almost 26wks.

You can do it!! I am a diabetic, type 2, & had to work for almost a year to get my levels low enough to be able to try to get pregnant & had to start insulin...and now things are going really well! It's all about diet & exercise & making sure you check your blood glucose/stay in touch w/ your dr. GL! Smile

Thanks for all the encouraging words:) Plus side is I do get an ultrasound at the appointment next week so I get to see LO again:) Good luck to all the mommies who haven't tested yet!
