So I have a few different options for my shower dress, and I'd love your thoughts on one that I bought yesterday. I got this dress and it fits really nicely. I like that I'll be able to sit and not worry about the length of the dress, too. However, do you think that maxi dresses are slimming or do you think they make you look like a house?

Re: Opinions on the Maxi Dress

i think having a pattern on the maxi dress helps you to not look like you're wearing a nightgown, and helps you not look like a house...
either way underneath, you still feel like a house... at least it's comfy... lol
I think it can be slimming! I like wearing mine with a little cropped short-sleeve cardigan I have, which hits the smaller portion of my rib-cage. I like how it divides up my body in a flattering way, so I feel less like a mass of fabric. Just food for thought
I'm on the shorter side, so regardless of whether I'm pregnant or not they make me look like I got attacked by a bed sheet and the bed sheet won.
That being said, that particular dress looks less tent-like than what I usually think of when I hear maxi dress.
