Flying with carseat ?

I'm going to check my carseat since carrying it through the airport is a tedious task. Can I just put a big plastic bag around it with my name on it sot that it doesn't get dirty or is there a better way to pack it? TIA!

  • That's what we've always done, but I know that BRU actually sells carseat covers for travel.

  • We have always used a car seat bag we got at target for $20. Make sure you try your seat in it first. We bought a new one off amazon and almost killed ourselves trying to get our seat in it at the airport. It ended up ripping since it didn't fit well and we returned it since the amazon description said it was "universal". The bonus of using a bag is that you can stuff other things in there. We always put toys and Bens special pillow and a package of diapers.

  • Spend the $20 on  a bag.  Our bag is quite a bit scuffed up at this point and I?d hate to think of what would?ve happened with  just a heavy duty trash bag.  Also, like Jill said, we stuff diapers and wipe on the way out and any new purchases on the way back.

I would'nt have even thought to stuff other stuff in the car seat bag .. I'm totally going to do that on our trip next week! Great idea :)

  • I called Alaska Airlines (we're traveling on Sunday) and they said they provide a bag for the carseat at no charge...just a thought.

That's just a clear plastic garbage bag type thing.
