ok so today when I was taking a shower I noticed I had several pieces of discharge that def. looked like snot. It was white, thick, and stretchy. (not like the EWCM) Like about 3 pieces the size of a dime each and pretty thin. So i'm freaking out that it's pieces of my mucus plug. (Which btw I know can regenerate) So should I be worried and call my doc. in the morning, is this normal and no big deal, or is this some kind of fonky discharge that comes along with being pregnant? oh and no cramping or bleeding. Would appreciate a response from anyone who has experienced this before.

This. I also thought I was losing my mucous plug, and managed to freak my OB out enough that she made me come in for a cervical check. Of course all was fine...and I still get it off and on

I had this over the weekend - I was 15wk3d - except mine had some brown {looked like old blood} in it as well ... since I'm high risk, I didn't waste anytime and went to the E.R - They checked my cervix and sent me home since I was still high and closed.
Apparently, it's due to stretching ... I'm also a first time mom ... I still have some discharge, that I intend on asking my OB about on Thursday but, from what I was told in the ER - it's normal pregnancy stuff.
This! and from a mom who totally noticed her mucus plug leaving the building, last time, i can tell you, its NOT white. its like the ugliest sinus infection snot booger you can imagine (yellowish, greenish, yucky). that white, stretchy stuff is common, normal, and will continue to happen through the rest of the pgcy! no worries
You hit the nail on the head. It got worse for me in later pregnancy too (like I went to L&D once because I had so much). I notice more the day after sex too. Lovely I know.
Yup, I always have it the day after sex. On and off throughout the rest of the week.
Sounds normal to me.
When I lost my mucus plug with my first 2 kids, it wasn't like anything I've ever seen before. You will definitely know if it's something that isn't right.
Good luck!
