To check or not to check?

Do you check your registry and see what people have bought?  I have to admit I do but only because I have registered at different places.  SO if I see that someone has bought something of the registry then I take it off of the other one. 

 

What do you do?

    I stalked my registry right up to the day of my shower. I just couldn't help myself!

    My mother has been getting really upset if I mention getting on my registry to add or remove things.  We just sent out the invitations this week so it's not like there are loads of items that have been purchased.  To be honest I'll more than likely peek right up until shower day.  Come on...we made the registry and we have the password.  It's really difficult NOT to peek!

    I've been stalking regularly Embarrassed  I'm even more ashamed to admit that I'm getting frustrated and concerned that hardly anything has been bought from my registries, even though the shower is on Saturday.  It just makes me wonder why I spent so much time researching products and working on the registries. (I know this is tacky of me, too, so flame away.)

    I checked mine often, but only because someone mentioned to me shortly after I made it that some of the items weren't available anymore (thanks, BRU).  So I had to remove and update items as they became obsolete.

    I liked checking my Amazon registry, because when someone bought something it put them on the "Thank-you List' and I could write their card right away and send it when I received the gift.

    I've peeked before, but I stopped. I don't want to ruin my surprises! It's like finding out what you're getting for your birthday or Christmas. If I had registered at multiple places for the same thing, I would just to make sure there are little to no duplicates.

    Oh yah... I'm a stalker. I was for my wedding too... My DH yells at me all the time for it...

    I checked mine almost daily, mostly because things were constantly going unavailable or out of stock and I'd have to replace them with something similar. Also, I only registered for things that we'd really need and nothing extravagant (my hubby is in job limbo and money is kind of tight), so I would constantly take inventory and figure out how much was left, how much we'd have to save up to buy it if no one bought it for us, etc.

    Why did you register for the same items on different registries? Just curious since that's a surefire way to end up with duplicates and annoying for you to have to keep checking against...

    I registered for everything at BRU....However I grew up in a small town and many of my friends and family from there would have to drive over an hour to get to a BRU so I registered at a store they would be able to go to more easily.
