I am a big plant person. I love everything about them. I have a few that are air purifiers and others that are humidifiers and others that are just plain pretty.
I don't want to have an electric humidifier in the baby's room (living in the desert makes it create more issues then helps) and we have swamp cooling so in the summer time it is always moist and humid in the house. So, I was thinking of putting a Peace Lilly in the baby's room and DD's room so purify and humidify the air naturally. I know that the kids wont eat them (they are poisonous). I have also read that English Ivy is good too.
Are any of you thinking of doing this?

good to know it does those things... I probably need 15 more in my house!
We're definitely thinking about doing this. We have several downstairs and in our room that are air purifiers. I'm not sure what type we're going to get yet but I'll definitely look into a Peace Lilly!
Now that you mention it I did read that study, I tend to block out all memories from grad school. Do you have it? If don't have access to it and are still looking for recs I have a paper I wrote including data from that study and can give you the list. I think there were 15 plants shown to have purifying properties.
