1st Trimester

Tell me about your cramping...

So I know that cramping can be one of the first symptoms of pregnancy.  However, it is so similar to PMS symptoms.

If you had cramping, tell me how it differed from a typical PMS cramp.  I have had slight cramping since around 4DPO.  I have been pregnant before (missed miscarriage in Dec) and I do remember cramping, but I didn't take very good notes in FF.  I know that I am just wishful thinking and pulling at straws here, but what the hell!

TIA!

At 12 dpo I woke up with cramping that was moderately strong, but lower than my usual AF cramps. It's what prompted me to test, since AF didn't show.

After my BFP that day, I had off and on cramps that lasted until about 6 weeks.

  • These cramps are not painful just annoying and they are more of a constant sensation then coming and going.  oh well...I guess I should just chaulk it up to another mind game.

  • I'm 5 weeks and my cramping is a lot like my AF cramps, but maybe not as intense and a little lower, I have them once or twice a day.

  • I had 2 or 3 days of constant cramping starting probably 13 or 14 DPO.  It was pretty much nonstop. Sometimes they were bad, but for the most part it was just that it was constant that was driving me crazy.  Some of it was like regular af cramps, but most of it was just like my insides felt like they were very sore and tender.

  • I had cramping but around my belly button and little lower...was told by doctors office to take some Tylenol....it was uterus stretching pains. Thankfully they go away!

  • this is my first pregnancy. i've had almost constant, low level cramps for about 5 or 6 days now. it gets a little worse at night. i was worried at first, but everything i've read/heard says that it's pretty normal, just the uterus stretching itself out. it can't help but feel similar to menstrual cramps, because it's the same muscles, but i haven't seen any spotting to make me think there's a problem. all of my other symptoms have been pretty stable.

  • AF cramps felt like spasms, and sometimes had a stabbing sensation. These weren't quite the same. They felt more like pulling. I was about 11 or 12 DPO before I even felt them, and they seemed to have slowed down over time. This morning laying in bed I felt a little bit (more like the pulling/stretching kind) but haven't since I've been up and about.

  • I've had cramping off and on since I missed my period (about three weeks).  I typically have very intense menstrual cramps.  These feel less intense but still painful.  Typically they are worse at night.  No bleeding or spotting though and everything seems to be going fine.

I had fairly painfull cramps at 9dpo and implantation bleeding.  After that, it was like one strong cramp several times a day up until about 6-7 weeks.

    I am rooting for you!

  • I read somewhere that the cramping is supposed to stop a few weeks into pregnancy...but mine hasn't.  I am 5 weeks, almost 6, and I still have about 2-3 cramps per day.  They are like short intense pains, lasting about a minute, and then stopping.  I used to get my period cramps very badly in my legs and I haven't had that at all this whole time.  When are these supposed to stop though?

  • I recently read that implantation cramping and/or spotting is more common than previously thought. However, it's still not super common.  I experience implantation cramping with my second pregnancy. It happend about 1 week before AF so I thought maybe AF was going to show early that month, but a few days later I got a BFP.  I don't remember them feeling any different than mild menstrual cramps. Just that the timing was wrong. Good luck.
