Was just wondering if you were going to register at one or two places? I am already registered at BRU and was thinking to add Target too? Is that overkill? If all my big stuff is already on BRU registry do I need to reg at Target?
We did BRU and Target since not everyone has access to BRU. We have some family members who live in the "country".
This, except we're the ones that live in the country. If you live in a big city with a BRU and that's where most of your guests live, then I'd say you don't need another one.
I registered at Pottery Barn Kids and BuyBuy Baby.

We registered at BRU and Buy Buy Baby because we couldn't find a stroller or high chair we liked at Buy Buy Baby and most of the other big things we liked were there. We're having two showers though so I wanted to have a lot of options for people and I also know some of my friends that live further north of us don't have a Buy Buy Baby so this gives them another option.
I had only planned on registering at Target and a local cloth diapering store. However, I had a number of people ask me why I didn't register at BRU...so I finally gave in and registered this weekend. I'm still not comfortable with it, and didn't add anything I already has on my other registries. I feel kind of gift grabby...at least I have time to decide whether to keep it before invitations for my shower go out in May.

I only wanted to register at 2 places, but we did 3--BRU, Target, and Wal-Mart. I added Wal-Mart because the other 2 places are close to an hour away for the majority of our families. At BRU I registered for the bigger stuff--with the intent of using the completion coupon later--and at Target and Wal-Mart I registered for everything else so those 2 registries have the most items on there.
I think it is fine to register multiple places, but if you register for the same items, take time to update your registry so you dont have to do a bunch of returns or have people at your shower that bring you the same thing.
I am planning on 3 as well- a local cloth diaper store, Target because it is easy for most people, and Buy Buy Baby because so much of the Target stuff is online! (Plus there are not any many BBB as BRU). So whatever works for you and your guests!

Same here. We are considering adding another but I think Target and BRU pretty much has all of our needs covered. Any others would purely be for "pretty material things".

We did BRU and Amazon.com. We could find everything @ BRU and theres plenty around us for our guests however the prices at Amazon were so much better we went for it our online shopper friends. $20 LESS for our car seat bases plus free shipping, Couldnt resist. I thought about Target but them seem to have low stock a lot.

i hate when people register at 2 places for babyshowers. I dont think its rude or anything, i just personally don't like it. So I only registered at BRU. But I also didn't register for a lot - 30 items or so for 30+ guests. In my family people dont really buy off the registry - the big items yes, but clothes books ect? They get what they want. So I registered or big items at BRU and nothing else. They can get what they want where they want.
We only registered at BRU. I don't even care if there isn't a BRU nearby, they can order the stuff online as well, at least most of it. I didn't want to waste my time registering at two different places. If people get stuff from Target, that's fine. But I just wanted one list to maintain.
Is it weird that I ONLY registered at Amazon.com? Was so much easier on me to just do it all at one place, and just about everything on there is lower priced than I can find anywhere else, their selection is the biggest, and its free shipping. I guess I can try and find the same items at a Target or BRU, but moving my registry seems like a hassle. Am I being way too selfish?
I guess I'll ask my mom if anyone (like my grandma) will hate it. Not like she's gonna drive out to BRU anyway. Who doesn't shop online these days, especially if there's free shipping involved?

Re: Registering 1 or 2 places?
I registered at three places...
Target and Babies R us. And one local cloth diapering store.
I would only register at both places if you see things you feel like you need.
