would this irritate you? (vent kinda long)

I bought a groupon back in January for a local photography studio that specializes in photographing newborns and children. The deal was $35 for a 30 min studio session plus 8 x 10 and 5 x 7 print of one pose plus 10% off any additional prints. I bought this intending to use it for newborn photos and birth announcements.

So I emailed the studio the day after we got home from the hospital to set up an appointment (their website said they had no problem scheduling appts via email btw) and got one email back with no info on available appts just info about the groupon and telling me to schedule an appt for whenever I felt comfortable bringing DS to the studio. So I emailed them back asking if they had any appts the next week. No reply. Well you ladies know how hectic everything is once LO arrives so I kept forgetting to actually call and schedule an appt (since apparently the DON'T schedule via email). I finally remembered to call last week and at first the lady was super nice, asking what kind of poses and props we were planning to use and then she started trying to sell me photo packages (which start at $200). I found this kind of odd since I hadn't even seen their work and she was really trying to push me to buy one before we even got there Hmm I told her I would discuss it with MH and we would probably decide after seeing the pictures. The tone in her voice made it clear that wasn't an acceptable answer to her and she kept pushing. I finally told her that MH had injured himself at work (which is true) and is out for the time being so money is a little tight but that I liked the photographers work and we probably would come back in the future if we liked what she did for our newborn photos. Well that completely turned this lady off and she said "well let's just get your appt scheduled then" as if I am completely wasting her and the photographers time! What I should have said was "if you hadn't taken so effing long to respond to my email and schedule me an appt the first time I contacted you then I probably would have at least considered getting a package because that was before my husband hurt himself!"

I understand that $35 is a deep discount and she has a business to run but honestly if you aren't willing to give decent customer service to people who bought the groupons (and probably aren't expecting much in the first place because of the deal) don't expect them to be repeat customers. I don't understand why she signed up for the deal in the first place??

Ugh! Our appt is tomorrow and at this point I'm not even sure I want to go and feel guilty for being broke the whole time but SHOCKING she has a cancellation fee Sad
