Anyone else trying to lose weight?

So I had my 6 week appt this last Wednesday and was cleared for everything, which is nice so I can exercise. I have 21 pounds to go until my pre-pregnancy weight but 7 more after that until my "ideal" weight. My goal is to be at my idea weight by the time I go to the beach in mid-July. I also started weight watchers.

Is anyone else starting a diet or exercise program? I was thinking of doing a check-in as a way to keep accountable, and also to post tips that help maybe lose weight quicker or recipes or anything that might assist in the process. : )

  • We talked a few months ago about doing a check-in with other moms on this board. don't know what happened with that or who originally posted. Personally, I never gained alot of weight, so I'm back to PP weight, however I have a belly still that i want to get rid of. I try to walk or jog 3 times a week and eat healthy, but I have a more voracious appetite than I did when I was pregnant. good luck with your diet and exercise! It feels great when you get out there and it's you time. that's what i keep telling myself.

  • Yes, I am! I have lost about 30 pounds so far, but still need to lose more. I am not getting stressed about it and just trying to get back in my old healthy habits. I have been watching portions and trying to get back exercising. I hope to start Zumba again next week. I can wear alot of my pre-pregnancy clothes but some are snug. I go back to work in 5 weeks so, got lose more before then!

  • I can't wait to get cleared to start running again (my PP checkup is Thurs).  We got married last year in Hawaii and our wedding reception is in June (we had a honeymoon baby) so I have 15 lbs to go to get to where I want to be.  Hopefully running and exercising again will get me back into a healthier groove.

  • Sounds like a great idea.  I still have 6 pounds to go before I reach my pre-pregnancy weight.  But I still need to loose another 30 pounds to get where I was before I had a late loss and a miscarriage in 2009.

  • I'll be starting weight watchers this week and I've started exercising but have 13lbs to go to my goal weight.  I started the C25K program and also been doing Body Combat and Body Pump classes at work (health club).  

    I'm all for a weekly check in.  Do we want to format them?

    Lbs down - workout schedule - diet tips, etc.?

    I definitely think posting with you girls and seeing everyone elses progress will help us get motivated!

  • I would be interested in haring and sharing tips too. I have about 20 pregnancy pounds to go and another 20 on top of that. I just have been so non motivated lately. We did talk about a bunch of us joining sparkpeople. I did signup awhile ag but hate to admit, haven't been on. Anyone else using it?

    same here!  i just started weight watchers last saturday.  You get extra points if you're nursing...i feel like i eat so much! we'll see how it goes when i weigh in.  I wouldn't mind sharing info too.
