How do you go to the library?

in Babies: 3 - 6 Months

I see a lot of you bring LO to the library.  I would love to....but aren't you afraid they'll scream their head off?

I need to get over my insecurities and realize babies scream, I guess.

    I schedule it around naptime, so more than likely he'll be winding down or asleep.

    Our library has a lot of baby/toddler activities so there are always a lot of kids there being noisy.  There is a separate kids section and the "babytime" stories are in a separate room.

     

    If I'm browsing through the adult section and she starts making noise I just leave.

    I put her in her carrier...even if she's awake she just looks around. I also mostly just download ebooks now so I usually don't have to actually go.

    I take him just after a nap and a feed. I wear him in the Ergo. We walk around the stacks, pick a couple of books, and then have a snuggle and read for a bit.

    My local library has a time after lunch for kids.

    I always put her. In the ergo or sling and she's happy as a clam and I have hands free to chase the other two :P

    This. And (I hope I'm not jinxing myself here) A never cries when we're out unless he's hungry, tired or wants to get out of the car seat/carrier. As long as he's fed and has a toy to play with, he's usually very well behaved.

    I do the same thing, go after i feed her. If she starts to fuss, i grab the nearest book and check out! :-)

    I go in a car.

    Seriously though, C is fortunately playful enough to attend a childrens reading session without us worrying about it, and if everyone else around him is being quiet, he will too.
