Can baby # 2 wear the same hospital pic outfit as #1?

We were team green for DD so she wore a green onsie that said "Kiss me I'm Irish."  We are green this time too and all of the sudden I'm thinking this baby can't wear the same thing for the picture-- not sure why that occurred to me all of the sudden-- maybe because if this baby wears it then all the rest of them will have to too (if there are more).

I have 2 options: Same outfit DD wore OR take a cute girlie outfit we already had from DD and buy a boy outfit that can be returned if it's a girl.

This is probably a ridiculous question but you know how all you can think about is insanely insignificant things the week before you are due.

  • I'd buy a new one for each gender and return it. Dh knew our gender but I didn't so he surprised me with the outfit he bought. I am one if the weird moms who make a big deal of the coming home outfit.

I agree with this 100%.  I would want the coming home outfit to be new, special for the new baby -- unless you want to start that tradition for any future kids, and have them all wear the same thing.

  • I would take 2 different outfits and have the new LO wear something different.

  • If you are anything like me, the week before I was due I felt like I was running around like a mad woman trying to make sure everything was "ready" before DD's arrival.  If having to go out and buy more outfits and then wash an outfit causes your cup to runneth over, then I think it's super cute and sentimental to bring this DC home in the same outfit as DD.  It's been fun to have DD wear some of the gender neutral stuff that DS wore, and DS gets a big kick out of it too.  IMHO, it's just an outfit....enjoy the last few days of just DD.  And I can't wait to hear about this baby's arrival.  Please keep us posted!!!

  • My girls each had their own coming home outfit and special blankie.  I don't hang on to a lot and I'm not majorly sentimental about "things" but I like that they each have a few special things of their own.  For everyday stuff, hand-me-downs are perfectly acceptable but for some things, I think they need their own thing, ya know?  Also, I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference between Ava and Lila's newborn pics (they could seriously be twins) if they weren't in different outfits, lol - so I'm glad I had something different for each of them to distinguish.

  • I don't have more than one child so my opinion probably isn't all that valuable but I'll give it to you anyway :)

I would do the coming home outfit each as a special outfit to each their own. However, I would go ahead & take pictures when you get home of the new baby in the same "old" outfit so that you start a tradition with that outfit as well. Best of Both IMO!
