Yesterday we were at my inlaws most of the day. When we got home our CO detector was beeping every so often. I couldn't find the manual to see what the beeps meant, but i was concerned. DH changed the batteries and it didn't go off any more. I was still worried about my baby, so DH went and bought 2 more detectors. One is a digital one that gives a number reading. In our apartment that read 70. There's a problem if it reads above 9. I took Nadia outside and called the fire department. They came and got a reading before they even got in the door and told me to take her away from the porch. We stayed at my inlaws and everything is fine. I'm very thankful that i'm so paranoid about something happening to my baby, because that could have been terrible. I cry just thinking about it. So if you don't have CO detectors, get them!!! We now have 3 in our little apartment!

Re: Carbon monoxide scare. Please check your detectors!
Do you own your apt? If you don't did you notify the office of this? My goodness gracious...so glad to hear you are ok. Makes me so nervous...were moving into an apt next week and I will have our checked before we move in. Thanks for posting this!
We rent, and we told our landlord. The fire fighters called the gas company, and they came as the fire people were leaving, along with our landlord. They checked everything, and determined that it was the stove. Apparently it was not ventilating properly because of old gunk somewhere. So, they cleaned everything, and now we have a new stove.

and just tonight a 24yr old girl died asleep in her apartment, previous tenant also died in the same apartment. they determined it was carbon and the idiot owner never bothered to install the detectors.
