So Teagen will be a month old next monday and I wanted to do something special like make cookies or bake cupcakes for all the nurses as a "Thank you so far" kinda deal hah I just wouldn't know how many to bake cause I'd like everyone to be included. So those of you who have baked stuff for the nurses how many did you usually make?
And also Teagen has a nurse who is just wonderful with her and I love her to death! She snuggles with her when I can't be there, puts little bows on her and makes sure I understand everything thats going on with her. So how would a make a request to make her Teagens primary nurse when she works?
Re: Doing something special for nurses
We did a lot of Dunkin's coffee (Box of Joe) and muffins/bagels when we would come in first thing in the morning. The nurses loved it, and I would do the same thing for the night shift. Coffee is always well recieved
I always requested nurses. I just told the charge nurse that I would prefer a certain nurse if she was on. Also those specific nurses would ask for my babies as well. It worked the same way when I was on hospital bedrest - I just kept all the same nurses
As far as requesting specific nurses - talk to the Charge Nurse on duty. I always requested our nurses - made the NICU stay so much more easy when you had your favorite nurses on duty.
I gave our "favorite" nurse a gift card to get a new pair of scrubs - our nurses could wear their own vs. hospital issue ones. That way she could always remember Nolan when she wore those scrubs
They always appreciated coffee cake, cookies, cupcakes, baked goods for treats as well!
