What are you wearing home from the hospital?

Especially curious if you know you're having a c-section (I don't know that I am but I suspect that I will due to her size).

Will it be maternity or just larger sized-regular clothes?  I'm a novice and don't know what to plan for.  I assume I'm not going to want to wear maternity jeans.

Re: What are you wearing home from the hospital?

  • I'm planning on wearing yoga pants and the layered tops I have been wearing through out my pregnancy.  I don't know how warm or cold it will be come late April and early May, so I'm prepared either way.

  • I am wearing a pair of black maternity gouchos that I got this weekend, they are lost and comfy and sit below where my c/s will be, I will wear a lost maternity top. No way will i try to get into non maternity clothes!

  • That depends on how I give birth. If a c/s then for sure loose sweats. If vaginally I think yoga pants. Still loose but not as unflattering as ginormous sweats. I actually still fit into my pre-pg jeans right now so I think I could probably go home in a pair but I just want to be comfortable.

  • I'm in love with the yoga pants I'm in now. They're not maternity - I've just got the waistband folded under the belly. I'm thinking these pants and a t-shirt will do the trick.
  • I may be getting a C-section so i'm thinking something flowy and super comfy like a maxi dress or something like that.

  • I will wear the lightweight sweatpants that I wear all the time now and a tank top or t shirt with a hoodie and flip flops.
  • there is no way this booty will fit into pre preg jeans for the time being. I will bring my yoga pants and a comfy but nice shirt to wear home, maybe a cardigan for photos.  Nothing fancy!

Same here and I'm having a c/s. Well I'm hoping my flip flops fit me this time around or I'll be wearing DH's crocs again.

  • having a c/s. Will wear a long jersey maxi dress. It will be maternity and likely the one I wore into the hospital.

sit below?  My c/s was in my pubes.

when you sit, you don't think the pants will ride up into the scar?  ouch.

  • I've been lucky to get by in the majority of my non-maternity clothes, so I'm packing a few outfits--my sweats and a pair of leggings (leggings have been my savior and best friend this pregnancy), a tank top, and one of my long maternity tops. I'll also bring a flowy sundress or maxidress, in the event that I do get a c-section. Okay, that's more than a couple, but I like to have choices  :D

They are really low, and as long as they go right about where they went last time, I should be ok. I sat down yesterday in them to see where they hit. My previous c/s it actually rather high on my belly.

I wore sweat pants home last time without a problem. Fingers crossed this time will be the same!

  • Probably one of the cotton tank dresses that I only wear around the house or to the pool/beach- they are shapeless and super comfy!  I will probably wear a button down shirt or a cardigan with it.  I don't want anything touching my tummy!  Oh and jeans will not even be thought of until 6-8 weeks later for me...

  • Depend on the weather BC, Canada is totally known for a rainy spring time

    Might just wear Jeans/comfy top/sweater

    or

    My pregnancy tights/Comfy Top/Sweater

or a Cotton Dress if my some chance it's warm lol

    With my Uggs of course

  • As of right now I will not be having a c-section, so I was hoping to wear maternity jeans and a cute top. After reading all the other response I am not sure anymore, I guess it's something else I need to think about!

  • When I had DD it was hot so I wore a comfy maternity terry cloth dress (and along with the funky cotton hospital panties I had a pair of my hubby's boxers on) and I think crocs or flip flops. This time the weather is going to be so iffy I'll probably pack sweats, tank top and a hoodie.

  • Yoga pants or gauchos, a nursing tank, and some sort of sweater/jacket.  That's pretty much what I wore home last time, and it was perfect.

  • I am having a RCS and I'm wearing these pants home. Probably with a nursing tank and sweatshirt. It's all about comfort!

  • I have terry cloth pants and tank tops. I brought a dress I can just pull over my head too in case I want that instead. I have flip flops and tennis shoes! Definitely not dressing to impress. Just finding something decent to get me from the hospital back to the house Big Smile
  • I'm also wearing yoga pants, a nursing tank, and a comfy shirt or sweatshirt.
  • I bought a pair of pj shorts from Target, they're longer, come down to my knees, and I bought them a size larger in case I end up with a c-section. They dont fall down, but they're not snug anywhere either. And then I'll wear a nursing tank, with a possible sweater pending the weather.
    My overly happy baby girl!

  • Yep - another for yoga pants and flip flops and most likely a nursing tank.  I'm all about the comfort!

  • I plan to wear a cute maternity maxi dress that I have.  It's really comfortable, and I don't even want to attempt to wear non-maternity clothing that soon!
