to try and prevent her from catching this horrible cold that we have going around our family? She is 16 months. Anyone know of anything I can try? Thanks girls!!
How about just food/drinks with extra vitamin C? Juice with vitamin C added, orange slices, etc? Does she take the gummy vitamins or anything?
Try to wash/disinfect your hands frequently and wipe down surfaces around the house as much as you can. In our house we've kind of resigned to the fact that if one of us is sick, we're all going to get sick. Hope you guys feel better soon!
Also, try airing out your house. Turn the heat off and open up all the windows for 15 minutes. It will get chilly, but not too bad, since the walls, furniture, etc. won't have time to cool off. The fresh air is good for health and dilutes "dirty" air.

Same here. I havent' figured out how to keep it away. The only thng that has worked at all was when DH was sick a few weeks ago we locked him in his office and didn't let him out. He slept in there. He used the bathroom near the office, and we didn't use it at all. Full on quarantine. We all did end up getting sick too but it seemed like a different sickness.
D-vi-sol and probiotics!!! You can find acidopholis capsules at any grocery store or drug store and just put some in a small bit of yogurt or applesauce- it's normally used to boost the intestines (important part of immune system!), but I've read and tried it during cold season and I think it really helps.
Vitamin D helps the immune system, you can get drops at Super Supplements and one drop is a day's dose. Also oil of oregano is good at killing off bugs, it tastes pretty nasty though. Technically you're supposed to do 2 drops under the tongue, but you could mix it with something yummy tasting. They have that at SS also. Hope she can escape it!
