I was very excited to go in for a growth ultrasound today and nothing about the appointment was exciting.
First, I think I pretty much dislike the ultrasound tech, she has horrible bedside manner and just isn't personable. So, I'm already uncomfortable.
She puts the thing on my stomach and I immediately notice that baby is breech : (
I'm not happy about that and she didn't have anything to say. I'm also pretty sure by what I saw on the scan that the cord is wrapped around baby's neck, so I'm not sure how much wiggle room she has to move back into position.
I guess I need to face the music and realize that a c-section is more than likely in my future. I just don't know how to feel, and I'll find out more tomorrow when I meet with my midwife. I'm just feeling a little bitter about the whole thing, I just wanted my birth with a midwife experience.
Is there any hope that this baby will turn around? She was head down just last Wednesday! Can I do anything to help? Anyone else in the same boat? I'm just slightly freaked out right now!
On the plus side-baby is not huge like I thought! She is measuring at 6lbs even, so right on target!
Re: Need Advice/Breech Baby
My lo is frank breech, and based on what I saw on the ultrasound, I'm guessing that we are going to have issues with the placement of the cord. The tech that did my ultrasound spent an awful long time on looking at the cord.
How is your baby positioned? Frank breech as well?
I'd get on spinningbabies.com and see what you can do. You might want to wait until after your appointment to see if the cord is an issue or not.
Sorry to hear it - but at least you'll know. Better than the days when it was a surprise!

I was in the same position as you are until yesterday. At 34 weeks, our little girl was breech. Then at the ultrasound yesterday (just under 36 weeks), she had flipped to head down. There is still a chance that your LO could flip!
Try not to worry about the cord until you talk to your MW.
