How do you know...

when to give your LO mylicon?  I have a fairly gassy LO but she seems okay most of the time.  Any help would be appreciated!  TIA!

Re: How do you know...

  • I'm no expert but I would say if she seems ok, don't worry about it. If she is gassy and seems uncomfortable (straining, crying, etc.) I would give her some. But that is just my opinion.

  • I resort to it when she is super fussy and nothing works to soothe her.  I then assume it is gas and give her the drops.  I try soothing and getting burps out for a while first.  I am quicker to the gas drops at night though.  Every time I have given them to her she calmed and went to sleep within 30 min.

Short answer:  I use it as my last tactic to get her to calm down when she is crying or super fussy.  Usually after 1-2 hours of trying other things.

  • my baby is screaming like there is no tomorrow and i put her on her tummy, rock her, slightly rub her belly clockwise. Once she passes gas she calms down immediately. I have a gassy baby that lets me know when she is uncomfortable.
