reccommend your face wash

Hey ya'll

So i have dry skin during the winter, and moisturize, etc but I sill have these seasonal breakouts and use a little topical prescrip (OB approved) to help out.

BUT it is spring (usually quits by now) and I'm sure that pregnancy acne isn't helping out. What facewash are you using to help combat breakouts?

I love Noxzema.  The original stuff, in the tub.  I won't buy off-brand.  Everything else either leaves me greasy or dry.  I LOVE how it smells and makes my face feel tingly-clean!

  • I really like St Ives olive oil facial wash but I think they may have discontinued it.  When I'm not pg, I use Aveeno Clear Complexion, but it has salicylic acid in it, so I haven't been using it during the pregnancy.

  • Oh and for a completely random "I can't believe it works" home remedy, use milk of magnesia (plain, unscented) on your face.  You can either gloop it on with a cotton ball, let it dry and rinse with warm water for a mask or you can put on just a little with your fingertips under your makeup.  The mask version really tightens up your pores and helps tremendously with breakouts and a makeup-crazy friend of mine swears by the under foundation method for combating oiliness.  I do the mask every other week and it's great!

  • Biore Steam Activated Cleanser. It gets nice and tingly. I leave it in the shower (it's meant for that kind of use) and I love it. I recommended it to a few different people with different skin types and they all love it.
  • I HAVE to use oil-free or my skin goes nuts.  My old stuff started to make me break out during pregnancy.  Now I'm just using Dove soap - the white bar kind.  No breakout problems since.
  • I use Dermalogica and some skin ceuticals stuff and it works great for me.
  • Clinque Rinse off Foaming Cleanser

  • Clinique Mild Gel Cleanser...works really well on my oily skin w/o drying it up.  I also use the 7-day scrub cream a few times a week.  I've had to switch to a level 2 toner b/c of the salicylic acid issue--my skin def. likes #3 better, but it hasn't been bad at all w/ the use of the other products.

  • i use the Mary-Kay 3in1 cleanser. I LOVE IT! and my face will not do with out it either. I tried. i left my bottle in guam thinking i would just order a new one and i didnt get to it fast enough, my face started breaking out so bad. but it worked wonders when i was on a tropical island at 95+ degrees with 100% humidity. I would recommend the moisturizer with it also. :)

    hope that helps!

  • The Purpose bar.  Soap free and recommended by my dermatologist.

  • Clinque day and night skin care~ mild liquid face wash followed by #3 clarifying lotion followed by dramatically different moisturizer followed by repairwear eyes and followed by a moisture booster usually moisture surge in the day and repairwear face by night.

  • Normally, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle and Blemish Cleanser but it was really irritating my skin when I got PG so I'm using Cetaphil. I like them both.

  • I LOVE Purpose face wash.  I have used it for years and it is gentle but really removes makeup, dirt, and oil.  DH uses it too, and not to brag/AW or anything but we both have really nice skin.

  • Oil cleansing, actually. A mix of castor and jojoba oil applied to my face and then I put a hot wet towel over it to open pores. Wipe it off and good to go. It doesn't dry out the skin, it keeps it properly moisturized so the skin doesn't go nuts trying to pump out oil to replace what harsh chemicals removed and it even helps with blackheads and other nastiness

That's what I use every day, too! My skin alwasy feels sooo good after I use it.  I don't really get too many red or whitehead breakouts, but I have a huge problem with blackheads.  This really, really helps combat them.

I always have Philosophy products on hand, too.  Purity face wash is great, as well as the Microdelivery exfoliating wash.  I love Philosophy Hope in a Jar as a winter moisturizer, but it's way too heavy for me once it gets warm.  I'm still looking for a good, light spring/summer moisturizer.
