thoughts? spotting on estrace?

I am currently on estrace (and nothing else) leading up to my transfer next week.    It is CD10, however, and I am spotting.   It is not like a regular period, but definitely red (no brown in sight).

Is this normal?   Or is it a sign that something is amiss?   I am not scheduled to go in for u/s and b/w until Saturday on CD14.     I haven't missed any pills and have been taking them pretty religiously every 12 hours.

I am waiting for my IVF nurse to call me back... but would love any insights/thoughts/experience you ladies had...

Thanks!!!

  • i've never taken estrace, i do IM estrogen injections (soooo fun).

is estrace a pill or supp?

i think it would be normal since so much of what we take has spotting as a s/e.

let us know what nurse says.

  • I am on the tablets...2 pills twice per day. IM estrogen sounds like a bucket full of fun... Ugh.

I am hoping it is a normal side effect, but of course start to worry about my lining. Or that i am ovulating through the estrogen. I guess all I can do is wait and see. Thanks, ladies! I will update here whenever the nurse calls. You are the best.

I've taken estrace instead of BCPs for both of my IVF cycles.  The only time I had spotting was when I had a huge cyst.

  • Well, the nurse just called. She said it isn't unheard of and they will just take a good look at everything on Saturday. If they need to add more estrace, either orally or vag, they will do it then. So I guess I just wait and see. Dr. Google says it can be a normal side effect, so I am going to try not to worry.
