Where to shop for crib?

My Mom wants to take us crib shopping in May, but I don't have too many ideas of places to go. The one place I know we will go is Room to Grow in Kenwood (my sister got hers there), but I would like some more ideas.

We are looking for a good quality crib and one that will last us through a few kids. My parents are buying it, and I don't want them to spend more than $600.

TIA!

Re: Where to shop for crib?

  • Pottery Barn Kids, Treehouse Kids, Babies R Us, any dept store
  • Loading the player...
  • Baby Depot = terrible customer service.  It took over a year for them to order our crib rails (to convert it to a full bed) correctly.

  • Babies-R-Us, BuyBuy Baby & Baby Depot (inside Burlington coat factories) all have a pretty good selection

  • Did room to grow close? Or did I totally dream that! You may want to call before you head out.

  • We got ours at BRU. MIL bought it and it was under $400 and was shipped to our house.
  • We got our at JCPenny.  They don't have any in store so we ordered it online but so far the quality is awesome!  For three pieces it was a little more than u want to spend but for a crib I def think its doable!

  • We got ours at Pottery Barn and really love it.  We paired it with dressers from Ikea and I think they look great together.

  • Like previous poster said, I think Room to Grow closed, so you might want to call before you head that way!

Pottery Barn Kids, Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, are all good places to look. I know some people on here have Ikea cribs and really like them.

Ours is from walmart.com, and it was super cheap and has been through 1.5 kids so far and is holding up just fine.

My daughters crib is from Once Upon a Child, but that's only because we really had no other option at the time ($$ wise).

That's great that your parents are going to buy it for you! How sweet:) Have fun making your decision!

  • We found ours at walmart.com.  They have a number of well rated graco cribs on their site, and for a great price!

  • Ditto pp that Room to Grow is closed, we drove by there last weekend.  I was not very impressed by BRU but have seen quite a few at BBB that I like.  Treehouse Kids also has a large selection but is pricier.  We ordered Ethan's dresser combo from JC Penney and was not impressed, it fell apart, so I am kind of leary myself from ordering from there again dresser wise.

Just an FYI...JCP has a few different brand and it does totally depend on the brand you get!  Sorry that happen to you!

  • We got ours from Baby Depot inside Burlington Coat Factory. It's a convertible crib and was about $300 for the crib and mattress.
