where is you LO?

During the day, what do you do with your lo? I would love to hold him all day but I know that's not healthy, not to mention I wouldn't get anything done if that's what I did. Right now, I'm in the bath tub and he's in his bouncer next to the tub...where do you put lo when not holding them?

  • Usually the rock and play sleeper and sometimes the pack & play. He's in the rock and play now.

  • He spends a lot of time in the bouncy chair.  I wish I had more options.  We did pull out the Baby Einstein playmat the other day  and he loves it.  He is also starting to get used to his swing, so hopefully he'll have more variety in his life :)

  • Right now he is napping in his bassinet.  When he isn't there either I am holding him or he is in his bouncy seat. Mine is still too little for his swing :( Can't wait until I can get him in there, but right now he just slumps over to the side.

  • I put mine down in the newborn napper part of the Pack and Play a lot... that's where he is now. Sometimes I also put him in the swing or his rocker. If he's not in those places (or sleeping in the bassinet), someone is holding him.

I feel bad that there's not much variety right now. He still sleeps a lot though.

  • Right now she is sleeping in her crib.  During the afternoon I've been putting her in her swing for about an hour or however long she can stand it, and at meals I put her in her bouncer, so I can have some free hands to cook and eat.  She's pretty content, but I do feel like I'm holding her all the time and that she's eating a lot!

  • I use a few different spots:  Little Lamb Swing, Propped in his boppy on the couch, sleeping on the couch, and his safari bouncer.  I still have my parwents here visiting, but I plan to start using his crib for naps at some point....with the monitor of course!

This.  I try and put her on the play mat on the floor a little during the day, for stimulation and tummy time, but that only happens if she stays awake long enough.

Bouncy seat, car seat, play mat on the floor, propped in her boppy, sometimes the swing but she doesn't like it much. Or I wear her in my moby - her preference, naturally. Learning to use the moby was the best thing I did - it would've made the last couple weeks much easier!

  • She's not a huge fan of the swing or the bouncy seat. The longest she'll sit in there is about 10 minutes, that's it. We're either holding her, or she's sleeping in her crib. I'm hoping that she'll start to like the swing or bouncy seat more since that will give me a little more freedom.

  • Wait... why is holding your baby all day a bad thing?  It is actually the healthiest bonding you can do!  My DD won't sleep anywhere but on my chest.  I put her down anywhere and she freaks out... swings, PnP, bouncer.  She is much happier close to me.  I still get things done around the house.  Just have to wait for boyfriend to come home and hold her.  You can't spoil a newborn.

This!!! I just bought the Newborn Rock n Play Sleeper which she actually likes and will actually take a nap. I don't mind holding her all day either, but I need to make sure she gets adjusted to sleeping in something else before I go back to work. :(
