My milk supply has tanked recently (within the last week or so). I used to get 4-5 oz when I'd pump for 10 mins now I'm lucky if I get 2-3 oz after pumping for 10 mins. Last night I pumped for 15 mins & didn't even get an ounce.
I've been using my freezer stash but G does prefer fresh milk if he has to take a bottle (at day care). He's refused some of the freezer milk

If you've made lactation cookies, which recipe did you use? Did they work? Where did you find flaxseed meal & brewers yeast (I live in the Mill Creek area & am wondering if I need to go to a specialty store for these ingredients)? Where thick cut oats hard to find?
And finally, how long did it take (time wise & how many cookies did you need to eat) before your supply went up?
Re: Lactation cookies
This is the recipe that I got from the hospital.

I got the Flaxseed meal and brewers yeast (over by the vitamin section) from Whole Foods Market. I use quick cooking Quaker oats now. It is just easier.
I got my supplies from Central Market. fwiw, I have been just making reg. oatmeal cookies and it seems like the same effect. I noticed it helped right away. You do have to eat a lot of them tho
With chocolate chips.
Another thing I swear by is drinking Gatorade. Its never failed me yet and I am nursing my second baby. GL!!
I (well my mom) used this recipe too. She got the flax and brewers at Fred Meyer in the natural section in bulk foods I believe. I've also seen Brewer's yeast at Supper Supplements, they probably have flax as well. For the oats, I think you can use regular (not quick cooking) oats, we used Gluten Free oats. I was also told to eat 4 cookies a day.
