Researching baby monitors, both audio only and video. Any thoughts regarding either? Best brands and styles? Leaning towards digital based on what I've read so far regarding the least interference.
I was so paranoid about SIDS and now that he's older, he is completely NOT trustworthy with his blankey. He loves to put it over his head and then he falls asleep. I will probably use it until he's 20 or so. HA.
As time goes on, it does seem there's more interference on it.. perhaps someone in the neighborhood has one now too. But you kind of get used to the buzzing.

When Matt was born we got the Summer Infant Day & Night monitor. The picture was really clear. When the sound went on that a few weeks ago I got the Summer Infant Best View (there is a really new model out) because it had a bigger screen and the video pans, tilts and zooms. I figure with him ready for a toddler bed I want to see all of the room now. The sound is incredible but the video is not as clear.
We also have the Angelcare monitor. Still use it though now we only use it for sound, since she gets all over the crib, there would be too many false alarms. We have never had any static or interference problems.

I could have written this word for word! Summer Infant is wonderful, and their customer service is top notch!
I love the AngelCare monitor also. SIDS is one of my biggest fears, and that also that he may not be able to breathe for any reason and therefore not being able to cry, so we have the monitor and sleep sooo much better!
Re: Baby Monitors
I swear by my Angelcare motion detector monitor.
