We had a weight check yesterday and DD has gained 2 lbs since February! So she's now officially 25.2 lbs, and instead of being <3rd, she's now between the 5th-10th%.
That's the highest she's ever been ever since she was born. The doc was really happy and I am over the moon!
She has been eating more lately, but a few months ago I stopped The Buffet that we were having all day every day and cracked down. If she didn't eat her meal (dinner was the worst), she didn't get anything else for the rest of the night. On crappy eating days she gets Pediasure with dinner.
Re: So proud of DD! She gained 2 lbs!
Congrats! I have the same problem with my little one. At two years we are only 20 lbs. Any tips or suggestions? I would love to see 25 lbs by our 2.5 appointment.
Thanks,
DD cannot eat any nut product and has an egg intolerance. She wont eat anything casserole, sandwich, anything with a sauce, anything that looks wet or icky.... So all of the easy ways to add calories are a fail. lol
She will, however, eat any fruit, almost any veggie, pasta, chicken (nuggets), rice, any grain. Breakfast is easy because she'll always eat breakfast. So I usually let her pick her breakfast, and give her two choices for lunch. If she doesn't eat lunch she doesn't get an afternoon snack, so that is usually good motivation to finish her lunch. I choose her dinner or let her choose from 2 choices (she's really picky and almost never eats what we eat so it just depends on what i'm making). If she doesn't eat dinner she doesn't get anything else till bedtime (or she can finish her dinner). If she eats dinner (even just a few more bites) she can have something for dessert (usually ice cream or fruit or a cookie). Sometimes all she'll want to eat for a meal is veggies or fruit and some days I just say ok (it's healthy and better than nothing I guess).
Drinks are 2 8 oz cups of whole milk (if she's having a crappy eating day I sub her dinnertime milk with Pediasure), some water and juice (in 4 oz servings). I don't mind juice because it's also calories (I only give 100% juice), and sometimes the Danimals yogurt drinks. She is cut off from fluids after 7 (to stay dry overnight).
