A little intro and other stuff...

Since I'm new here I thought I would share a little about myself.

My name is Heather.  I live in SW Austin (just outside Circle C) with my husband and our two beautiful daughters.  We moved to Austin almost 5 yrs ago.  We are expecting #3 in September. 

 So HI!!!

Oh and I had my amnio yesterday.  Not as bad as I thought, but still not pleasant.  Should have prelim results in 2-3 days and final results in 8-10 days.  They did the anatomy scan too and everything looks good.  They told us the sex but couldn't it still be too early to know for sure?

    Welcome!

    It could be too early . . . but my OB does their standard sex determination at 16 weeks. If you have the right equipment and a skilled tech, 16 weeks is usually an accurate determination. Do you want it to be wrong?

    Is it bad that I hope they are wrong then?  Well the amnio won't lie so we will know that in a few days!

    eh, not bad, per se. People want what they want, regardless of what their reasons are. The good thing is that you're finding out early so that you have plenty of time to come to terms with it, if it is, in fact, not the news you wanted.

    Welcome! Seems to early to me but my friend told me she found out at 16 weeks with both of hers and they were right, I guess it just depends!

    Don't get me wrong - all I really want is a happy, healthy baby!  But all things being that - is it too much to ask for some variety???? 

    My husband is heart broken and I feel so bad because of that.  I don't need added emotional issues - I'm pregnant I have enough emotional hormonal stuff already - HAHA

    SIGH!  It weill all work out and everything will be great - it is just a little somber around our house right now...

    Hi Heather, welcome!!  glad your amnio went okay, hopefully all the results will come back okay as well!

    I found out that DS was a boy at 16w so yes, it's possible!!

    Welcome!

    16 weeks seems early to me although i know some people find out that early. fwiw, i just had a friend who had her anatomy scan at 20 weeks, were told it was a girl. Then at 24 weeks had another u/s and nope, it's a boy. hope everything with your amnio results come back good! and like rssn said, you both will have plenty of time to come to terms with the sex.

    Hi Heather and welcome!  This is such a great board.  We found out at 16 or 17 weeks the sex of DD.  I was so sure we where going to have a boy that when they told me girl I didn't believe it, but I was SO excited!  I'm guessing you are going to have 3 little girls now :)

    Welcome!  I was told we were having two boys at 15 weeks.  It's probably easier to see that early if it's boys.  But I did ask them to double check that department during my next 2 or 3 u/s's.
