Advice and or Suggestions

I have a  toddler and a baby due in May. Any advice on how to prepare my son for the new baby? TIA

    DS was about 20 months old when DS2 got here... he really didn't understand it so there wasn't much preparing to do.   You can read him books about babies and being a big brother, you can also carry around a baby for a little while and see how he reacts (if he reacts at all).  DS1 didn't really care about the baby at all, the only problem I had is that he wanted to sit on my lap while I was nursing the baby, so I just had to get him used to sitting next to me.

    I agree there isn't too much you can do.  We got a baby doll though the last month or so and would place "her" in the crib or bouncy seat. I'd ask him to help me check on the "baby" or say goodnight to "her."  I also carried the doll around the house occasionally so DS would see me with a "baby" in my arms. 

    It actually kind of weirded me out! :)
