So I started painting the room about 2 months ago and am almost finished just one wall left. I haven't felt the urge to finish it but I know it needs to get done... And MIL is bringing the baby crib in 2 weeks and that still isn't enough push to get me going... what to do?
Re: Not feeling the urge and need to nest... anyone else?
If I were you, I would have your DH finish painting it for you! Maybe getting that done will feel less overwhelming so your nesting will kick in.
Mine has kicked in the last few weeks. I think it has a lot to do with my family shower being at our house this Sunday. I really want the room to be as complete as possible before then. We're just about there!
We'll see if the nesting in the rest of the house continues once the nursery is done!
GL. I'm sure you'll get there. And remember, LO won't know if the room's not done when s/he get's here.
So don't stress.
i don't know if i have a nesting instinct... i'm amazed at all of the work so many ladies here go through to prepare dream nurseries. we moved into our house four years ago, and i haven't painted a single wall.
the only real nesting-type thing i have to do to prepare for this baby is make a baby quilt, but the thought of being down on the floor, choking on my acid reflux, and trying to keep my toddler away from the rotary cutter just doesn't seem that appealing.

Due with baby blob August 2021
I'm not really doing anything until after baby comes. We live in a 2 bedroom condo and our second room is our guest room. Since baby will sleep in our room for the first few months anyway, I don't feel any pressure to tear apart our guest room now. I also have only bought ONE thing for baby; a 9 mo. old outfit I thought was cute. My baby might not have tons of material things and a cute nursery etc, from her Mommy but she'll have lots of my love and time. I figure that is what newborns want - the other stuff is just what Mommy would like.
