I am new to Orlando and in search of a great doctor. I need a yearly exam and have a few questions about conceiving as My husband and I will be starting to try at the end of the year. I would love a doctor who has midwives and/or doulas in their practice or associated with it. I am looking for a doctor that is pro natural birth. I live in downtown Orlando, so somewhere close would be a plus, but I am willing to travel.
Also, I am curious about the hospitals around Orlando. Which are best for deliveries? Do any have birthing baths? Any and all recommendations will be so appreciated! Thanks!
Re: Looking for a great doctor/hospital in Orlando
My heart is as open as the sky.
Read about it on the blog
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
Yea Orlando!
I will tell you who NOT to see: Dr. Louis Stern. If you want to know why, PM me and I'll let you know.
Winnie Palmer is AMAZING. DH is a paramedic and loved doing his clinicals there. My friends who went through nursing school at UCF wanted to work their as their #1 choice after graduating. I am delivering there and can't wait. Florida Hospital is a great system too, but for delivery, Winnie Palmer is the best. DH was born in the Winter Park hospital, but I've heard the quality has gone down.
In terms of doulas, there is a good network down there (so I've heard). I'm currently in Tallahassee for work, but the doulas up here say there are some great ones down there.
There are a lot of great doctors near downtown, especially off Orange Ave. near the hospitals. You could also look at Winter Park as well.
Hope that helps! Feel free to PM me with any other questions
