I just finished reading The Pact by Jodi Picoult-- it was good but sad. A very typical Jodi Picoult style story if you like her other books. She is one of my favs so I enjoyed it :-)
I'm also reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis but this is a little heavier/harder to read if you are looking for just an easy relaxing book. It is good nonetheless.

I am reading my way through all the Jodi Picoult books at the library now. I love her books even though it takes me forever to finish one since I tend to fall asleep as soon as I lay down to read. Right now I am reading Songs of the Humpback Whale.
Also, I just finished The Paris Wife. It was really interesting. It's historical fiction about Ernest Hemingway and his first wife, Hadley. If you've read any Hemingway, especially A Moveable Feast, you should read it.
I just finished my second read of East of the Sun by Julia Gregson. It was THAT good!
I also always recommend The American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld. It's one of my forever favorites.
Both of those are historical fiction, but not heavy on history at all. Curtis Sittenfeld also wrote Prep, which is just fiction and a great read. If you want something lighter, I just read the newest Jodi Picoult book, Sing You Home, and liked it. I haven't liked her most recent stuff but I liked this one better.
If you're into a darker read, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is excellent. It's based in the Holocaust but is a deep read.
The Help is very popular right now because of the upcoming movie, as is Water for Elephants. I recommend them both.

I'm not reading anything at the present moment... during the school year it's really hard for me to find the energy to read a book. Anyway, a friend of mine from HS blogs about various pieces of literature... https://marriedfourcatsapartmentfullofbooks.blogspot.com/
Sometimes it's random, but sometimes there are some good titles mentioned. She just started it in March.
I am reading Mini Shopaholic right now (6th book in Shopaholic series). I have The Help and Water for Elephants on my nook as well as the Happy Mommy book that was discussed earlier this week or last. I want to read the book about the tiger moms too.
Bookmarking your post for later. I am going to need to add some reads to my Nook app later this week. I am just finishing book 5 of the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. They were recommended by my sister and a few people here, so I gave it a try and got sucked right into the absurdity. Definitely not a light happy read. I have a lot of the books in my wish list that were mentioned by the others above. You can't go wrong with those. I love book reco posts!!
I always feel like my reading choices are so low brow when everyone rattles off what they have been reading That said, I just finished up all of the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood books by Charlaine Harris and I had a hard time putting them down! I love the show "True Blood" and had heard the books were not as good so I hadn't bothered picking them up. I was pleasantly surprised though. If you are a fan at all of the Twilight books then you may find these appealing as well.

Right now I'm reading Mike, Mike and Me for bookclub. Recentlythe really good ones I've read are Matched, The Hunger Games Series, The Help, World Without End (sequel to Pillars of the Earth, which was also really good), Hide by Lisa Gardner, Sarah's Key and Little Bee

Baby Sister is coming soon!
I enjoy YA books (Twilight, etc.) and am working on Shipbreaker right now. Pretty good so far! I also loved the Hunger Games series, the Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer, and the Host by Stephanie Meyer.
I'm late to reply, but you should also check out https://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/. You input the most recent book you've read and it offers 20 more suggestions. I just finished Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster, and I'm on the waiting list for Prep and The American Wife.

You captured my thoughts exactly I'm not much into reading any more, but when I do I like light, fluffy stuff that most people would dismiss. Chick lit is really my fave.
I'm getting ready to read Sweet Valley Confidential. How's that for high class? I also am in the middle of Nora Roberts bride series. They. Are. Awful.
Re: NBR: What are you reading now...I need some recos!
