I think I went to my first wedding this past weekend (as an adult) where I left stone sober. I didn't realize it until we pulled into our neighborhood, but as we pulled in, I looked at MH and was like, "This is oddly unsettling. Normally I am hammered and we are continuing the party at someone's house or a bar. Right now I just can't wait to get out of this dress"
My my how we are changing every day
Re: At the risk of sounding like an alcoholic...
Hahaha...I went through the same thing this weekend! DH and I went to a party, and I had my water bottle in hand! First party I have been to in a long while that I wasn't carrying a wine glass around!
DS born via unplanned C-section at 40w6d
Chardonnay For Me!!! I already told DH it will be a NICE bottle
I know exactly what you mean. I'm in my college roommate's wedding in June & when I told I was pregnant she screamed "Agh! You can't drink at my wedding!"...I was looking more along the lines of "congrats", but she followed up with that shortly after.
I love my wine, beer, and margaritas! I do have to say though that we're really saving money, our checks when we go out to eat have really gone down since I can't drink and DH doesn't drink as much now that is partner is out of business for 9 months...
Haha, I feel the same. I just got back from New Orleans.....my husband and I were there to take our last trip before we started trying to conceive...and I found out I was pregnany 10 days before we left! We had already signed up for a cocktail tour....can you imagine how fun that was for me? LOL. It was terrible. Fourth time to New Orleans and I can say I will not go back until I can drink!
I can't wait until after the first trimester...I plan on having a glass of red wine about once a month until lo gets here. My sister had one of her babies in Europe and docs there encourage this! Pregnancy is hard enough!
Surprise BFP# 5 - 9/2/16 - Due 5/13/17
BP (before pregnancy) I drank at most events. I've been avoiding my friends like the plague because Ashley without a drink can only mean one thing-- that i'm pregnant.
My girlfriend just had her baby on Friday and I brought them (the parents) some gin and tonic.... to the hospital. She was VERY thankful.
I miss beer. :-(
If you are an alcoholic, you're in good company! I so miss a good drink (vodka cranberry or that riesling for me. Ooh, or a cold glass of Yuengling!). I want booze and sushi right after this bad boy or girl gets here safe and sound. My husband loves having a DD/carry-out person for the time being, though. Yaaay.
This made me lol -- I know when I eventually show up at the corner liquor store to pick up stuff for a friend's party or something, the guy behind the counter is probably going to ask the same thing. I haven't been there in 2 whole months!
Ahh all my lovely lushes!!! It's not just me, yippee!! HAHAHA
Seriously though...now that it's getting SO nice outside...all I can think of is Saturdays spent on a patio drinking all day long with friends. Oh man, drinking water is so nice, but it's just not the same!
Cheers in advance, ladies!
