XP: Houston, we have heartbeats!

Had my 2nd ultrasound this morning and there were two beautiful teeny heartbeats!! One was 112 and the other 119.....measuring 6w1d and 6w4d.

Of course, there had to be a surprise--a third sac which appeared empty but no one saw it last week. I guess one of the embies split....which leaves me to wonder if the two growing could possibly be identical....

The dr said that the third sac isn't expected to make a baby as there was no fetal pole or yolk sac. Still it was a shock to see it on the screen. I kinda thought something was up because there looked to be more than two big black blobs on the screen!

Wow. I'm sooooo glad they had heartbeats b/c I don't go back for two more weeks!!

ooh, exciting! did it look like the two there were in one chorion or two? interesting!

From what I could tell the two that were there were totally separate--on opposite sides of my ute with the empy sac in between. So most likely the empty split off one embie and the other two are gonna be fraternal....but I guess we'll have to wait and see!
