A lot of people love Cheryl at Special Addition (local maternity/breastfeeding boutique). I am a big fan of Linda Hill, the lc at Capital Pediatrics. You can reach her at 512-454-4545. She was instrumental in my nursing relationship with my daughter.
My pediatrician recommended I call a LC who had been in Austin forever and wasn't taking new patients but would offer advice over the phone and refer me to another good LC. I am blanking on her name (I think it was Debra), but she said she would send her own daughters to either Cheryl at Special Addition or Anna Swisher with Abundant Blessings.
I went with Anna and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED her. She is the reason I have been able to breastfeed, without a doubt. (I had a lot of problems with milk production, DD was already hooked on the bottle/formula, and DD also hated nursing because her head had a huge bruise on it from the vacuum extractor). She doesn't have a website but her contact info is on this page.
Cathy Clark was awesome for us. And she has 3 adult sons (we're friends of the family) so she's good with guys (translation: she made any help/advice very easy for DH to follow/grasp)
I had Susan at Special Addition and loved her! I don't think you can go wrong with the ladies at Special Addition. I think it's just a matter of who you feel most comfortable with. I definitley recommend having one though! They are wonderful support and full of info, tips and tricks! Good luck!
I pink puffy heart Cheryl at Special Addition. DH went in to buy a supplemental nursing system and booked an appointment with her. She actually called me while he was on his way home to see how she could help over the phone before we went in for our consult the next say. She is amazing!
