Alrighty...I have already gained 10 pounds...whoops!Big Smile

I'm going to be big and waddly by summer, but I want to try my best to control some of the weight gain from here on out.  Does anyone have any good recommendations for some workout videos while preggers?  I would love to get started on some!

thanks!

Re: Best prenatal workout videos??

  • Well, not sure if I'll be much help or not but.........I am also 16 weeks preggers and have already gained 10+ pounds.  I have "Prenatal Yoga with Shive Rea" which is great.  Not exactly an aerobics workout video, but it sure feels great to do this.  I also have "Pilates During Pregnancy with Niece Pecenka" which is pretty good.

I am going to be taking a water aerobics class in April at the local high school.  Might be something you want to try out, if you have that option, since I hear it is so much easier on the joints and it feels so awesome to be in the water while pregnant.  I also plan on taking more walks once the weather is warmer.  I'm in Michigan, and it still feels like winter here.  Yuck!  But I think walking will be great because it's low impact.

Anyway, I'm not sure what other videos are good.  You should be able to go to Amazon and search the pregnancy videos and read all the reviews on there.  That might help a bit if that's what you really want.  Good luck!

  • I bought the Denise Austin one and love it (well, love the workout, her voice drives me crazy).  It feels like a real workout, not just some thing they threw together because the video makers think pregnant women cant' exercise.  There's a workout for each trimester, a cardio workout and even a post-baby one too.
  • if you go to https://www.collagevideo.com/ you can view clips and read great reviews of many workout videos (if you want to go the video route).  They do have a good selection of pregnancy ones (under the specialty section).

I picked up a couple videos my last pregnancy, but haven't pulled them out this time yet.  I've have been walking on our treadmill at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes (with incline and a brisk pace) which I'm trying to really stick too.

  • Try Summer Sanders' Olympic Prenatal Workout. I have the name all wrong, but if you search Amazon Summer Sanders- you will find it. There are trimester specific workouts- but, you need a resistance band.

  • You should try the Pregnancy Fit Kit - that's what I use.  It's a prenatal / postpartum exercise program that comes complete with all the necessary (and comfortable) workout accessories.  My friend recommended it to me and it is awesome!   Their website is https://www.PregnancyFitKit.com  - Good luck!
