Diaper Raffle Questions

There will be a diaper raffle at my shower on Saturday. We (my mil, mom, & myself) have decided to let guest enter their names for every pack of diaper(s) they bring. We have a total of 5 gifts that we are giving away.

Questions #1 If a guest has already won a prize and her name gets picked again does she also win the second prize or just one?

#2 I've had a few guest who are not able to attend the shower drop off their gifts and diapers, do I still enter their name in for the drawing and what should I do if their name is chosen for one of them?

    Why would your guests name get picked again? Once you pull their name out of the jar it's not longer valid. Unless they brought you more than one pack of diapers and then yes they should get the prize if their name is called again since you stated that they get a ticket for every pack of diapers they bring. Also I wouldn't enter guests who aren't at the party into the drawing but that's just my opinion.

    I disagree with PP. I think each guest should only win once. And if a guest cant come but was nice enough to drop off a gift and diapers then they should be allowed to play too.

    1) I'd limit each person to one or two prizes if you only have five, especially if it's a smaller shower. You don't want one person winning all the prizes!

    2) I definitely would not enter any guests that aren't in attendance. It just doesn't seem fair to those who are there. 

    February 19, 2010- BFP! March 14, 2010- M/C January 17, 2011- BFP! April 26th, 2011- It's a boy! Due September 20, 2011 May 2, 2011- Confirmed Gastroschisis August 7, 2011- Labor begins August 12, 2011- Max is born October 4, 2011- Max comes home!

    If it were me then 1 prize per person just because they have more chances doesn't mean they should win more than one prize. If they bring a thing of diapers to be entered in the raffle even if they can't stay then yes they should be able to win.

    I would say it depends on how many people are at you shower. If there are a ton of people then no skip to the next name. If there are one a few then let them get a second prize but not more than two. also I didn't add people that were not able to come to the shower. I didn't think it was fair. That a call you will have to make. I loved the diaper raffle. I got a ton of diapers!

    There will be 18-20 people at the shower.

    I have a question for you--I'm invited to a baby shower and in the envelop along with the card came a piece of paper letting guests know if you bring a pack of diapers your name would be entered into a raffle..I'm sorry but I think you asking me to buy you a pack of diapers is tacky, particularly since you didn't even register for diapers--but my question is this, do you expect me to bring you a pack of diapers in addition to the present? one or the other fine? what would you think if I only brought the gift and not the diapers? I don't mean to offend you since you are doing this for your shower, but I have never been to one with a diaper raffle and now I'm at a loss as to what's the etiquette for this, and what better source than someone having a diaper raffle at her own shower!

    I think they expect a gift + the diapers. I find it incredibly tacky and selfish...which is why i ate diaper raffles!

    I was thinking of doing this-- And I would consider diapers to be the gift personally. I think it depends on the person having it too -- I have lots of recent college grad friends & some older family friends, and folks who are on fixed incomes who will be invited to mine- so I think it's a nice idea to have something that they could do more affordably and is just as useful. But I did register for a specific brand of diaper- just to give people an idea of what I'd like to have. Will I accept other brands and not be a snot? Oh yeah.
