So how are you doing postpartum? Have you had AF yet? Are you using BC or just winging it?
I was all geared up to not have AF until I started taking Prometrium again and not have to worry about BC since -hello-needed Metformin and Clomid to ovulate and am now wondering if my body has "reset" or something (not that I'm complaining though). Just curious how you gals are doing. Oh and I am EBF
Re: PCOS ladies a ?
I'm doing pretty great. Life is good. Motherhood is fantabulous! I am bleeding still too though. It was basically gone finally by about 6 weeks pp but then at 7 or so it started to become semi-spotty again and now at almost 9 weeks I think I'm sorta having AF maybe. LOL, is that clear? Well it isn't to me either.
I am not taking BC but that's a religion thing, but now DH is getting worried that I might actually ovulate and we'll have Irish twins, LOL, at least our insurance deductible is paid off for the year. I stopped taking metformin just before I found out I was pregnant (last one was with the last Clomid pill) and didn't resume because I didn't want the kiddo to get any of it.
As far as changes well, getting any kind of period without Prometrium is new but I guess time will tell if that continues. I was interested to find out that because of PCOS effing with your hormones that it can make breastfeeding difficult. It REALLY was in the beginning and I had to use formula in the beginning to supplement but now am EBF now that I finally have enough for him. It took pumping after every feeding though to get it up and that sucked. I still pump once or twice a day though and freeze it because sometimes by around 10 or 11pm I can't make enough for him so I use the stocked up to fill him up.
I tried to BF but by week 3 my milk had disappeared completely. It was the strangest thing. I was feeding her just fine one day and by the next I had nothing left to give her I didn't even leak like most do after I dried up it was like there was literally nothing left. I guess that maybe that was from my PCOS.The main reason why I take BC was because if I wasn't on it then I never had a period and they were afraid that after years of no period I would have a very high risk of uterine cancer. I wish I didn't have to.
Well I am glad everything is going well for you! Hope everything continues to go well!
I am on the mini pill and still BF until the end of this month then I'm switching to Nuvaring and hoping and praying that when I would like #2 child, my body will let me have it naturally without IVF.. Had few bleeding occasions (1 or 2 days at the most) but it didnt quite feel like AF, so I dont know what's going on with this crappy PCOS body.
I'm doing well! No AF, yet, and I am really worried. I was hoping that my body would be normal for just a few months, at least.
I BFd for 6 weeks, BTW.
I was going to get back on BC, but have decided not to. We would welcome a surprise.
For this child I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him.
