Preemies

Book Recs?

Anyone have a book rec on preemies?  I've found several on Amazon that look good, but I thought I'd look for some experienced advice.

Thanks!

Re: Book Recs?

  • The Premature Baby Book by Dr. Sears is my hands down favorite

Our hospital gave us Preemies: The Essential Guide and it is good but better as a reference tool- like if the dr, tells you something, look it up in it but don't read it cover to cover b/c it covers EVERYTHING that can happen so it is kinda scary.

The two of those together are a really good resource IMO. Also, our NICU gave us a little booklet they put together on what to expect, common NICU terms, etc.  Ask if yours has anything like that, I found it really helpful b/c the nurses used a lot of the same terminology, etc. as in that booklet.

I second these recommendations.  Also, I really enjoyed Half-Baked by Alexa Stevenson.  It is a memoir of her 25 weeker's time in the NICU.
