Is Tofu Safe?

I've been looking online everywhere but I can't find any reputable information about whether or not it's okay to eat tofu when you're pregnant. I'm assuming it's fine, I mean it's just soy beans - right? But I thought I'd check to see if any of you know! Thanks Smile

  • I'm sure it is. Low fat, high protein, very healthy. I can't see how soy bean curd can be bad...

Good news! I just found this on WebMD under the "6 must eat foods for pregnancy" so we're good to go:

    Beans

Add black beans, white beans, pinto beans, lentils, black-eyed peas, and kidney, garbanzo, or soy beans to your diet. Try them in chili and soups, salads, and pasta dishes. Besides providing protein and fiber, these legumes are also good sources of key nutrients, such as iron, folate, calcium, and zinc.

I'm just lost these days between all the stuff you shouldn't eat. I'm getting all paranoid about the littlest things! Arg...

    Thanks for your advice ladies!
