What Cute Thing. . .

Has your LO said or done lately?

I had a cute one from M this morning that I wanted to share and thought it might be a fun post to read through from everyone. :)

  • So mine:

We don't go anywhere without Violet, Madeline loves the thing you should she her get all excited when it starts to sing. So this morning I was buckeling her into her car seat and she was playing with the butterfly thing hanging from the handle. I always set Violet on her lap and turn it on to "10 minutes of bed time music" before we get in the car to keep M entertained. As soon as she turned on and started playing the music M started to pet her head! It was about the cutest darn thing I'd seen. Madeline has recently started to want to pet our dogs/cat or my parents cats all the time, I just loved that she did it to Violet. She still had her hand resting on Violet's head when we got to my parents house.

  • That's so cute Jen!

Yesterday I was chopping tomatoes for dinner and Max wanted some, so I put a few pieces on a little dish and set it on the floor for him to sit there and eat. He ate some, pretended to feed some to his bear, and then laid on his tummy on the floor, put his face right in the bowl, and said "Hi tomatoes!" which comes out as something like, "Hi tomonanos!" I was cracking up.

  • W initiated a game of peek-a-boo around a pitcher of water with dh's friend at a restaurant last night. He peered around one side and when they guy saw him, W crouched his head over to the other side of the pitcher and laughed. he repeated quite a few times.

  • She learned the sign for "gorilla" the other day and at bedtime signed "good night gorilla" which is one of her favorite books to read at bedtime.

At dinner she signed "doll book" wanting to look at the american girl catalog.

And the one that really touched me is her signing "thank you" after nursing.

I'm amazed at how much is going on in that little mind.

  • Cute!  Love hearing all the things kiddos do.

Wednesday D was working late, so it was just the boys and I.  We decided to do takeout, since the meal I had planned was too much without help watching them.  As we were driving down to pick up Teriyaki M asked what we were having; I said "remember we called in an order of dumplings (gyoza) and chicken teriyaki".  He responds with a very excited "SWEEEET, I love chicken", I seriously thought I had a 12 year old from 1992 in my backseat, I had to look int he mirror to doublecheck.

  • Holden talks about the babies all the time!  He asks questions like "Baby, truck?  Baby, Cry?  Baby, Elmo?"  its so funny, I took a video of him asking all these "baby" questions.   Also, when you ask him how many babies mama is having he says "two babies!"

OMG that is adorable! TWO babies! Congrats lady!!

Cambryn this morning told Dustin that she was a robot. I have no idea where she got it from but she put on his hat backwards and said "Daddy, I robot" and proceeded to stick her arms straight out and walk out the door. Random kid...

  • This is kind of embarrassing, but I'll share it because Mia was so cute. When my team lost on Saturday I may have started crying (I know..I do not take losses well and I love them!) So, Mia was near me and came up to me and was like, mommy, are you ok?  You okay, Mommy?  I said, mommy is sad.  And she said, I'll give you hug and make it better and then gave me a hug.  Then she went to the tv and yelled you are meeaaannnnn at it.

  • Jackson has mastered the word "please" better than any word, but REFUSES to say "thank you". We have been working really really hard on our manners (all of us) - I feel like I say thank you about every 10 seconds.

Last night, we kept prodding and prodding at him to say thank you. Finally I say, "THANK YOU JACKSON" and he responds very loudly, "MALCOLM!!".

Shane and both look at each other, confused.....I said, "Oh, he thinks he is saying, "Your welcome"."

Close enough - and very cute.

  • These are all great!  I posted this on Fbook but last night we filled up the soaking tub for C to "swim" with me since we missed both swim classes due to her cold.  She had the best time and her new favorite thing in life is to lie on her back and kick like crazy!  She splashed water higher than DH's head onto the mirror, so at least 6 feet off the ground and just laughed and laughed until she was snorting.  DH and I were dying laughing ourselves.  She has become more giggly overall lately which is adorable, and seeing her laughing with such pure joy was awesome.

  • B was eating pieces of pancake this morning and kept saying "Mmmm, yeah!"  I know it was just a coincidence, but it made me laugh.
  • Love hearing all the cute kid stories. I think we should make this a weekly thread. Kaylin said to me last night, "Mommy, do you know that daddy has two names?" I asked her what they were and she says, "Sean, Daddy. You have two names two." So I asked what they are and she says, "Mommy, Queen.NNo idea where she got that from!
  • Em is really into talking to the baby. She can't talk to it unless she lifts my shirt and talks to my bare belly. It's really cute to hear her say, "Hi Baby! I love you!"

  • I love reading all the cute stories.

Yesterday when I went I picked LO up from Grandmas.  I walk in he is sitting in his high chair drinking his water.  I said Hi, clear as day ( with a big smile on his face) he says "HI" in a pretty loud voice. I was a bit suprised, and said hi again.  I said wow, when did you learn to say hi.  My Mom said he says hi to me all the time, I said he has never said I hi to me before.  It made my night.

  • Awww! These stories are great. My 16 year old cat has taken to hiding in random places. Today her choice was the bathtub. I went into the barhroom to clean C's diaper and he followed me. He saw Pumpkin in the tub and while my back was turned, climbed in and started loving on her. She was rubbing up against him, he was smiling and cooing, it was too precious to break up. He played in the tub for about 30 minutes with her. Melted my heart.

    These are all awesome!

Max has a few different sets of "Where the Wild Things Are" toys, and we read the stories to him every night. (He asks for the book by yelling, "Max, Max!"). This morning, he asked to play with his plastic WTWTA toys, so I handed him the action figures and proceeded to sort through his laundry. All of a sudden, I hear him recreating the book with the figures. He was saying, "And gnashed their ibble teef, and rawred their ibble eyes, and ibble tlaws. Max BE STIWELL!"

My jaw was on the ground, shocked. I had to make him do it over and video it, but it was not as good the second time around as it was the first!

  • These are awesome!

Lila is getting a little pickier about food and has started making it very apparent when she doesn't like something.  I've been trying to get it on video, but to no avail.  Her face gets all scrunchy and she shakes her head rapidly back and forth and says "I yiiiiiiiiike it, Mommy."  It's hilarious.

She can sometimes count to 10, but usually she'll get started by saying "one, six, one, six" over and over.

  • These are so stinking cute!  Em has been very interested in our water glasses lately, so the other night we decided to hold one near her and see what she'd do.  At first she started talking to it and trying to hold it, and then she put her mouth on it.  I tipped it up and she actually took a drink.  Now whenever I have a glass of water her eyes get wide, she holds out her hands, and opens her mouth as far as she can, hoping I'll let her drink some more.  It's a mess, but it's so cute that I just let her do it.

  • She doesn't do it for me, but every morning, Laurel blows DH the cutest little kiss ever. My heart melts every time. :)

  • Sarah has started saying "uh oh " all the time. It's crazy adorable. Sydney has become super lovey and will randomly say "I love you " to DH and I.
  • Grady introduces himself to everyone by saying "Hi Gay-dee" (apparently he thinks we all greet each other that way?). He is saying "thank you" every time you hand him anything or give him a hug. Clear as a bell. But "please" is rarer - and sounds like a terrible snake hiss. He is figuring out matches - like the giraffe toy is the same as the giraffe in the book - the elephant balloon matches the elephant on his wall. SO much fun too see his synapses firing!
