still in pre-pregnancy jeans

SO I am 19 weeks today and tried on a pait of hand me down maternity jeans from a friend and they felt SOOOO baggy and uncomfortable with the floppy panel since there really is no bump to hold it up.  I am going to a casual bridal shower and needed some jeans for the BBQ. So with a lot of doubt, I pulled out my favorite go to pair of GAP jeans and they still fit perfectly. I wear a lot of yoga pants and flowy skirts to work as a preschool/infant teacher so jeans are barely in the weekday rotation. Is anyone else still not in maternity clothes at this point?  I feel like I am barely starting to show and am envious of everyone's HDBD posts.

Re: still in pre-pregnancy jeans

  • I have a bump, but I'm still able to wear 1-2 pairs of regular jeans--one pair that was already getting too small pre-preg, I just wear a beband with.

Although I just started getting a bump in the past week or two so the end of this era might be near..

me too but the zipper comes up less and less each time I put them on.  Today I think it's up maybe a centimeter.  The Bella Band is my hero!

  • I have a bump but am still able to wear regular pants/jeans. I wear mat pants sometimes for comfort, and sometimes use a hairband on my "real" pants.

  • With DD, I was in pre-pg pants until 20-ish weeks.  It's tough this time, because there's no way I can fit into regular pants, but I have the floppy panel issue.  I'm almost always in sweats at home!
  • Until about 2 days ago, I was wearing pre-pregnancy jeans without any issues.  Then, all of the sudden, they were so uncomfortable that I couldn't stand having them buttoned.  So, the bellaband has just recently become one of my best friends!

I can still wear all of my non-maternity jeans with my Be-band but it's not that comfortable. I'm much more comfortable in my maternity jeans.

I could be wrong, but maybe you need to try a pair of jeans that weren't hand-me-downs. I'd assume that as my bump grows, the band on my pants will stretch and won't be as tight as it was before I had a big bump. That would be why the jeans feel baggy. That being said, if you still comfortably fit into your pre-pregnancy jeans, good for you! Save your money!

  • I'm showing but I'm still in my favorite Levi's. I chalk it up to them being very stretchy but I haven't been uncomfortable at all. I'm almost 23 weeks. I have a pair of maternity jeans but the panel is still too big.

*so jealous!!* I've been most comfortable in maternity jeans since I was about 14 weeks! But I have the floppy band problem on my mat jeans - I think it's cause it stretches out a ton...and then my mat jeans slide off my butt - I'm CONSTANTLY having to pull them up and adjust them. Next pair: below the belly kind. The full panel, while SUPER comfy, kinda sucks when it stretches out during normal wear.

  • I just switched over to maternity jeans last week- The Motherhood brand secret fit belly is nice because it holds your belly snug- Just an idea!

I am wearing my regular jeans right now- We have card club with friends and I just like how my regular jeans look vs. maternity jeans! I'm sure my DH will tell me I'm being stubborn and that I will be more comfortable in my maternity jeans but I LOOK better in my regular jeans! Ha!

These are what I have! lol The band totally streches out and my pants slide right off...I wouldve bought one size smaller since these are *a little* big, but the next size down was NOT coming up over my thighs! lol

I can still wear 2 pairs of my pre-pregnancy jeans with no bella band, and I have quite the bump. But...my bump is pretty high so it does not interfere with my waist area.

I was going to mention location of bump...I'm on my first and was pretty thin to begin with, so I thought I'd be in regular clothes longer, but I've been told by many vet mothers that I'm carrying low (most are guessing it's a girl at this point because of that). Needless to say although my pants still fit they won't button. I also have along torso so even with a bit of pudge around the mid section my shirts became too short. Enjoy this time while it lasts! As PP said, feel lucky that you don't have to buy anything yet!
