Tell me your "exact" schedule

I am thinking we are on somewhat of a schedule but not exactly sure. He sleeps so much still it is hard to say if this is the way it will be for much longer. Can you tell me your schedule as of now? Like exact time of waking sleeping and eating? I guess I kind of want to co pare to see if we are "normal"

Re: Tell me your "exact" schedule

  • DS sleeps pretty much the entire day but wakes up to feed every 3-4 hours. After eating he is awake for probably 2 hours after each feeding during the day.

Between 8-9pm I give him a bath, bottle, swaddle, and then I rock him. It takes probably until 9:30 for him to fall asleep though. He then wakes up at 11pm to eat and then wakes up at 4am to feed. He goes back to sleep until 6am then and won't go back to bed.

However, on a night like tonight, I literally just put him down for bed because he was fighting it the entire time and I just let him do whatever.

I am trying to follow a bedtime schedule right now but I am not uber concerned if it doesn't pan out right now.

  • At 6am is the first breastfeeding, and it happens every 2 hrs on the dot til 9-10pm. At 9-10pm she gets a bottle of breast milk, and then eats again around 2-3am. It begins again at 6am. I bring her into bed with me at 6am to lay down nursing so we can go to sleep after.

  • DS still eats every 2-3 hours and it can vary constantly, so we don't really have a schedule despite my best effort. We usually "start" the day around 6:30 and I try to feed him every 2.5-3 hours from there but sometimes it's sooner. I follow each feeding with "awake" time and then try to put him down for a nap. I'm successful some of the time but not others. He pretty much does his own thing. He has one long 4 hour stretch of sleep around 9:30 - 1:00am but not always. I think he going through a growth spurt right now because he has been napping for 4.5 hours and eating like crazy today. Unfortunately the nap has been during the day so I have no idea what I'm in store for tonight! :(

  • Up at 7am eats then awake for an hour eats at 10-1030 up for an hour eats at 1-130 up for an hour eats at 4 up for an hour eats at 7 sometimes is up for an hour sometimes goes right to bed up at 1000 to eat then out til 3 up at 7 (last night he was out til 5, I think he is starting to sleep longer)

  • We dont have an "exact" schedule but it is pretty similar each day. Usually he wakes up at 7am to eat and is pretty awake for about 2 hours before he eats again. Then he naps from about 11am-2/3pm. Then he eats every 2 hours until about 8/9pm. Then he will sleep until about midnight, then wakes up at 4/5am to eat and then up at 7am to eat and up for the day to start over.

  • DS eats about every 3 hours during the day, and his nap schedule varies. Sometimes he'll take 2 long naps, sometimes he'll take 4-5 catnaps. Once we put him to bed after his last feeding, usually between 9:30 and 10 pm, he'll sleep 5 hours, wake to eat, and sleep 3 more hours.

  • DD wakes up at almost 7 a.m. on the dot every day. She nurses once, takes a break for a bit and nurses again and then usually falls asleep until 10:30ish. She then eats every 2-3 hours, with one 4-hour nap, throughout the day until about 7-7:30. She then eats, falls asleep, and usually wakes up between 11-12 to eat again before she goes to sleep for the night.

At bedtime (between 11-12) we do lotion massage, change onsie/PJs if needed, get her nighttime diaper on (CD), do some bicycle legs, swaddle and nurse. She usually falls asleep nursing.

  • I would tell you our schedule, if we had one.  LO eats usually every 4 hours, but sometimes it's 3 and sometimes it's 5.  Therefore, I never really know what my day is going to be like, when it will start, etc.  We are working to have a routine of eat, play, sleep and I try to not have him awake for longer then 2 hours in a row, but I never really know.  He's definitely got his day and night figured out and does well sleeping at night, but that's our only accomplishment at this point.

Yesterday, for example, he ate at noon, then 3pm, projectile vomited around 4, slept until 8pm, ate again, slept until 1:30, ate and slept again until 5:30.  We "started our day" at 8:30 this morning, he's falling asleep again right now.  Hopefully he wont' eat again until after 12, but who knows.

  • no schedule just yet- we sort of just roll with the punches. i will say ds is pretty consistent with waking every ~2 hours during the day and every ~3 hours during the night.  oh and we bathe every other day- that's about it as far as our consitency goes- everything else is a crap shoot.

  • Not really a set schedule as baby's only 3.5 weeks (overdue baby changed Feb into March) but she usually ears every 2-3 hours during the day and every 5-6 at night. So, up at 5am ish for first feed, then out till 7 or 8am, then up pretty much off and on till 2pm, naps in the afternoon either 2-5 or 4-6:30 then cluster feeds all evening, down for bed at 10pm (no special routine yet) then sleeps till 3am, eats, down till 5am and repeat. How old is a good ave to think about a bedtime routine? It's probably a good idea to get into for when she's older, even if she sleeps well now, right?

  • I didn't think we were on much of a schedule either until I made a chart in Excel to track things.  I wanted to figure out any patterns that might exist since I'll be going back to work in three weeks.  I needed something concrete to give to my mom and a friend, both of whom will be watching LO.  It turns out that there is nothing but patterns going on.  She's up in the morning at 7am.  During the day, she eats every three hours and is only up for two hours between feedings.  Outside of little cat naps, she has a 1 to 2 hour nap in the morning and a 2 to 3 hour nap in the early afternoon.  Between 8 and 9 pm we do a little "going to bed" routine and she's usually asleep by 9:30.  Try tracking the behaviors of your LO and I think you'll be surprised at the patterns that are already established.

  • We don't have a set Schedule. I am on LO's schedule, which hasn't changed much since he was born, now 7 weeks. He is up to eat every 3 hours, pretty much on the dot. He will ususally stay up during the day for an hour sometimes a bit longer, after his bottle. I take him up to bed between 9 and 10. He is still up every 3 hours but goes right back to sleep....usually.

  • 4:00-Wakes me up half hour early for work so I pop him on a boob 'till...

4;30-mommy gets dressed, daddy dresses Sully/diaper change

    4:45-nurse

5:00-Kiss Daddy goodbye, Sully in carseat, we are off to work!

5:30-Mommy drives her student to school, Sully naps/sleeps

    7:45-Sully starts waking

    8:00- get back home, nurse

    8:30-Play!

    9:30/10-Nap

    11:30-Nurse

    12:00-play

1:00-Leave to pick up Mommy's student/Sully naps in the van

    3:15-Sully starts stirring

    3:45-Get home/nurse

    4:15-Daddy gets home/play

    4:45-Fussy time begins

4:45-9:00-Some combi nation of crying/cluster feeding and hopefully a nap (or clusterfeeding with short naps at the breast)

9:00-Diaper change, reswaddle, rock to sleep

Dark:30- Sully fusses for food, Mommy slides him from the sidecar into bed, side-lying nurse ans sleep until 4

Rinse and repeat. Of course there are variations,  but largely, going to work with me has Sully on a schedule that he sticks to, even on weekends(he just naps in the swing instead of car). We arrived at a schedule accidently, out of necessity kwim?

Sorry for the length...you did say exactly!

  • I am reading the book "Twelve Hours' Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old" and our schedule looks like this:

7:50am Wake her, change diaper, and dress her

    8am Feed her

Play time and try to get in a nap...she is going through a growth spurt so it's been rough with morning naps

    12pm Feed her

Play time and naps for about 2 hours

    4pm Feed her

Play time and I try to keep her awake until the next feeding

8pm Put in PJs, feed her, read books

about 8:45pm close the door for bedtime

    1:45am Feed her

    5am Feed her

Daytime feedings are like clockwork and she sleeps great at night.  This book was given to me by a friend and seems to really be working

  • DD wakes up around 7:30-8 am.  She nurses every 4 hours pretty much on the dot.  She takes a nap about 2 hours after she wakes up.  Then she takes a nap around 1 pm.  Then another at about 5-6 pm.  Then she goes to sleep anywhere between 9:30-10 pm.  Wakes up about 2:30-3 am to nurse then back to sleep until morning.  She pretty much set her own schedule but I coaxed it just a little.  Mostly laying her down in a dark room to nap so that she would nap for longer because she was making herself excessively tired for a few days.  Her naps last from 1-3 hours usually.
