1. does anyone have any recs on a great deck builder
and 2. estimated cost for a 12x12 ish deck. Feel free to PM me if you want. We are prioritizing our wants and a deck is 3rd on the list. Thanks ladies!! I love your advice.
I have no deck advice. Just wanted to wish you luck. We also had your painter over here to do a quote for us, as well as Sprad's brother. Waiting on the final quote. Both are super nice people. I cannot wait to let someone else paint the rest of our house. Thanks for the recommendation.
He seems to know his stuff. We like both of them, so it's going down to cheaper quote when we decide. Wishing you well on your deck. Post photos, please!
You had a friend who did a bricked patio, right? I think I saw it ages and ages ago on your FB. It was beautiful. Do you remember who did the work for them?
My uncle is a contractor and did ours but he goes on his own schedule so I wouldn't reco him, sounds awful! Our deck is 20x20 and we did composite. We were able to do it all for less than $5000. The composite b/c it was a "special order" was about $2000, then a bit more for wood for rails and nails/screws and labor. We had to have some electrical things moved in the process also so I think that made it a little more expensive.
Honestly, he loves doing stuff like this. If you are thinking of waiting until this summer, he might be interested in pricing out/completing the project for you. He is pretty talented (if I do say so, myself).

I don't have advice, but we're in the same boat. We just started talking about what we want to do, how much it may cost, etc.
I'm having a hard time even finding inspiration photos, and such. Do you already know what you want?

My father builds decks for Ryan Homes and does it "after market" as well. He did ours last summer. We love ours
